That's awesome that they keep in contact with people so they can be made aware of issues. What I just don't understand how things keep slipping through the cracks year after year. I mean this year they have a team strictly dedicated to CFM and some guy off the street gets the game and in two hours can see that things aren't totally right, how did they not catch this? I'm not to big on the stat issue, but when the rosters look like I did a fantasy draft after yr one or two that concerns me.

If the guys working in CFM aren't really football guys that's fine, but I can't believe someone didn't say or notice what was happening. I think the game is great its just very frustrating that this kinda stuff doesn't get caught sooner in the cycle and makes me scratch my head. I'm fine not having a fix for the first month since I like to get my sliders down, but if this lingers till Mid October or November, I will not be a happy customer.:huh:

I would say the roster moves are directly affected by the sim stat engine. Straighten that out and it should be cherries

The game is getting high marks from most sites this cycle. Rex is getting closer to his goal of having a 90 rated game.

I don't mean to be a hater. Hell, I am playing it at midnight. But if all the lingering issues still exist in the game (including CPU Arizona kicker attempting a 57-yd FG), I don't think this game deserves high 80s praise.
That kind of praise should not be given to a game that has lingering issues that seemingly can't be fixed. Hell, for two (three?) years, they couldn't get the wind direction right.

And maybe it's just me ... but Madden 15 on next-gen is 18 gigs. NBA2k14 was 45 gigs or so. Are the Madden guys really using the power of next gen?

Disc size doesn't mean much. GPU usage is what's important. Madden uses more GPU than any other sports game last I saw. Much more to render than other games.

Not to be stupid but why wouldn't Arizona attempt a 57- yarder in optimal conditions (wind, weather)? Not saying you are wrong just trying to get a bead on it.

I think Maddens biggest issue is that everything is so segregated. Gameplay adds something then the game modes have to see what it does to stats and whatnot. My solution personally would be to shut it down a month earlier to go gold and spend an extra month making sire things are right.

My solution would be to hire two teams: Let one take care of the yearly updates until the other has three years to work on an entirely new game free of all the legacy issues.

Eh won't happen. If that's the case all sports games would need that. No one is paying millions extra for that.

I get that, but if there's one franchise that can afford to do it ... it's EA Sports and Madden. Continually trying to fix the current engine (even if EA says it's not an engine) clearly isn't working. It's taking too long and the same legacy issues continue. IMO, with the amount of money EA makes off Madden, it's time to admit the current "engine" can't be repaired.

The only one that could afford it would be FIFA. They are the cash cow. Licensing for NFL is stupid expensive. Then add in NFLPA and broadcast stuff. Mega money.

Its not an engine. Its multiple engines all working together. What is an engine? Basically its just code. The problems happen when you have 3-4-5 different teams over the years trying to code over someone else's code. You are talking millions of lines of code just to find the one stupid little add-in that makes the wind direction appear the wrong way. Pull out the wrong thing... Something breaks majorly.

So after the longwinded stuff, yes they should start over behind the scenes. Hell they may already be doing that for all we know. BUT starting over is what caused the mess that was Madden 06 and no one wants that.

On point A: I'm surprised FIFA licensing isn't that prohibitive.

On point B: Madden 06 was an utter disaster, I agree. But EA still could have done better planning for next-gen this time around, especially considering the fact that everyone knew both consoles would essentially be mid-range PC platforms.

I agree to some extent. Either way its nearly impossible to get a real gameplan in place until you know the exact specs/processors/dedicated RAM you are dealing with.

Yeah I agree but they have a lot less to worry about. Not to mention the issues they have are pretty ridiculous ... Bad enough that I might not get 2K15.

Online is absolute garbage.... VC... Rebounds hitting the floor constantly... My PG dribbling off defenders legs and losing the ball 3 times a game... 3-5 goaltends a game. You know serious fundamental issues that rarely happen in an NBA Game.

My issue with 2k online is that I have to use stick skill. I would prefer to use player shot percentage. That said, NBA2k has never been an online game for me. Strictly offline.

And there is nothing wrong with that. I'm a competitive player (more strategy than the win) so online is VERY important to me.

Until I can play NBA2k with shot percentage vs. stick skill, it will never be an online game for me.
