Mark Wahlberg to star in Uncharted Movie

In a recent interview with MTV actor Mark Wahlberg has confirmed that he is to star as Nathan Drake in the movie version of Uncharted.

The star of Max Payne and well known big-screen travesty The Happening, spoke of his love of David O.Russell who was confirmed to be heading the project months ago, and according to Mr Wahlberg the idea is behind the movie is "insane."

"David is one of the best writer/directors I've ever worked with," said Wahlberg. "The idea that he has is just insane. So hopefully we'll be making that movie this summer."

We know exactly what you're thinking, but before you launch your mouse through the monitor award winning actors Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro were also name-dropped by Mark as being associated with the project, so there is real clout and more importantly money behind this project.

What do you think? Is Mark Wahlberg right for the part of Nathan Drake or will this be another entry in the long line of videogame to movie translations which missed the mark.



I think Mark Wahlberg is a decent actor but why not get Nathan Drake himself Nolan North for the part? I'll check the movie out though because I LOVE the Uncharted universe...but I am dissapoint

That's the first thing I thought as well when I saw this thread. I was so hyped for Max Payne when it was coming out...then they f'ed up the whole movie.

I dont understand why they are talking about having De Niro and Pesci play his father and uncle. Why the hell would they even call it Uncharted if they change it that much. I also think the last bit of the game with the demons wouldn't adapt well.
 
Idk man... I'm fucking excited... I think Marky Mark would play a good Drake., hopefully they stay close to the awesome story told in the game tho
