In what's one of the biggest trades in recent history, the Marlins are on the verge of sending shortstop Jose Reyes, left-hander Mark Buehrle, right-hander Josh Johnson and catcher John Buck to the Blue Jays in exchange for a package of young players.

Among the young players reportedly headed to Miami are shortstops Yunel Escobar and Adeiny Hechavarria, right-hander Henderson Alvarez and minor-league left-hander Justin Nicolino.

It's definitely going to be a tough AL East race next season. Now this puts pressure on the rest of the clubs to make some moves.

Until arbitration (I think 2014?) so he'll be kept through then before being dealt.
 
Alex Anthopoulous is a great GM. Still marvel at how he unloaded Vernon Wells. Now he just has to get the next manager right ... and not just hire a guy who is biding his time until he gets his dream job in Boston.

I'd be more impressed by that trade if he didn't immediately flip Napoli for a fat, washed up reliever. Brutal.
