The Houston Rockets, in an abrupt late twist to their long-running efforts to trade Tracy McGrady, have an agreement in place with the Sacramento Kings to acquire coveted guard Kevin Martin, ESPN.com has learned.

Martin was pulled from the second half of the Kings' game Wednesday night at Golden State in anticipation of the trade, sources said.

It remains possible that the deal could be expanded into a three-way deal that lands McGrady with the New York Knicks before Thursday's 3 p.m. trading deadline, after intense talks this month between the teams.

One source close to the situation confirmed to ESPN.com that landing McGrady with the Knicks before Thursday's 3 p.m. trading deadline is the goal, but the Rockets and Kings have a deal in the event that terms can't be reached that include New York.

Good pick up for Houston, decent return for Sactown. Landry is a solid young post player who is really having a good season. Plus they'll be able to LET TMAC LOOSE and he can really build on his 19 total field goal attempts this season.

I can't believe the Kings gave up Kmart for Landry. I'm not all that impressed with Landry. High energy guy off the bench but awful defense and not a starter in this league. Kmart is about 1 season removed from being a 24ppg scorer and can be even better with a better supporting cast.

Thank God Martin is gone, now the team can grow (can we really get any worse though ;)). This is Tyreke's team and Martin had trouble adjusting to that, plus he seems to always be injured.

I turned the game off last night against the Warriors once we were down by like..40 in the 2nd quarter and went to the gym so I didn't notice he was pulled. Looking at the boxscore this morning I see he only played 19 minutes. Good trade can't wait to hear all the final details.
 
Martin does one thing well and that is score. Houston has a good young team for grow, but it'll be interesting to see what happens when Yao returns. If Yao returns healthy (not likely) the team is going to be good.
 
Not really feeling this deal for Houston. Kings had to get rid of K-Mart so getting Landry is return isnt bad. I know they're gonna ship T-Mac so it'll be interesting to see where the Kings send him.

by watching the games, seeing box scores and hearing from kings fans, Kmartin and Evans weren't a good fit. Landry helps with some toughness inside for the kings.

As for Kevin Martin (a WCU Catamount btw) being able to play with Tyreke Evans, it doesn't seem like any shooter could play with Tyreke. He dominates the ball like no other, and Martin is more of a catch and shoot guy. Houston has a nice lil corps if they can stay healthy/Yao is ever the same.
