I wonder what they will do to make it fresh. They can't really rely on the mechanic they made famous 10 years ago that has been copied about a million times. Otherwise this game will be that John Woo game 2, which is a bit what the trailer looks like.

It looks like a Max Payne game. A game driven by a story and a lead character who's not a knight in shining armour.

They have the music right, they have the voice actor right and the story appears to be him following the same sort of path that got him into trouble last time.

I'm not questioning the story or presentation, I just don't know if the core gameplay will remain interesting or if it is just going to be a cover-based 3rd person shooter with a good story.

For the die-hard Max Payne fans like myself, I'm sure it'll be enough to hold interest. Just watching the trailer and hearing that theme music and the voice (no homo) it's got me wishing my b-day month was here already.

Max Payne 3 pushed back until May.

When Rockstar started showing more and more of Max Payne 3 late last year, we started to think that the game was on the right course and that it would be smooth sailing until the game's release in March. Clearly, that was a mistake.

The game's March release date has been changed to May 15, which pushes the title out of Take-Two Interactive's fiscal year. Accordingly, the company is now forecasting a loss for the fiscal year.

"We do not take changes to our release schedule lightly, and this short delay will ensure that Max Payne 3 delivers the highest quality, groundbreaking entertainment experience that is expected from our company," said Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick of the delay:

Max Payne 3 will appear on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 15, and then on the PC on May 29.

Figures. No way it was going to go head-to-head with ME3 and I hadn't even begun to see the marketing for MP3 yet. Rockstar usually starts a heavy marketing push 2-3 months out.

I'm okay with this delay, as it gives me time to play other shit. Plus, May has been good to Rockstar lately.

It wouldn't have for me anyway. I couldn't care less about ME3. But May is fine.

I know ME is a popular series but you guys have to understand that there are millions of people just like me that don't care about that sci fi talky shit and love Rockstar games. ME is not the end all, be all of games.

Thats all well and good and I'm another that never got into the ME games but lets be serious here for a min. You can either go up against a game that is long as hell and will sell a ton of copies or you can push it back a few months and gain a good 100k in day 1 purchases because your not going up against a juggernaut.

Oh, I know. If you don't have to go against ME, who would you. But I would bet that this games sales wouldn't be affected too much my ME. They are two completely different games that attract two completely different crowds. Is there overlap? Of course.

But yeah, if you can push it back a a bit just to guarantee there really isn't anything to compete with it makes business sense. Plus like Brnt said, May has been kind to Rockstar in the past.
