There always needs to be one I suppose,
You say I didn't watch Pippen although growing up in Chicago, where I was a huge fucking Bulls fan. Everyone wanted to be like Mike, well while everyone was working on fadeaways and shit I was working on Defense and trying to do everything on the court, Scottie Pippen has been and always will be my all-time favorite Basketball player (Im not saying he the best) while people was out buying Jordans, I was begging my grandmother to get me the Pippens.
I watched Pippen like a hawk growing up so please dont try and come at me like that, and to question my basketball I.Q once again you dont know me to do so. I have talked with other people about this and they understand where Im coming from where I see the raw talent in Trevor. Its ok if yall dont see it, I said it may piss ppl off but its just like how some of you look at these colleges players today and say they gone dis-n-dat Im just callin mine on sum1 already in the NBA.
Comparisons are made everyday: Harold Miner to MJ, Dirk to Bird, I mean chill man dont get to hyped up
Then you must have forgotten most of Pippen's career.
I never said "man you're stupid"... I just questioned your comparison and wondered how much Scottie Pippen you watched.
Most of this board is in the 16-20 year old age group.. thus they would have missed a lot of the Pippen/Jordan glory years. (Which on a side note.. I feel really bad for these kids)..
Stats don't tell the whole story, you can fudge numbers to work any way you want them to. I watched the NBA religiously growing up, and loved watching the Bulls primarily because of MJ.
I can tell you, Scottie Pippen was one of the most underrated players to ever play the game of basketball.. and his years WITHOUT MJ... show this.
Trevor Ariza is a fine player. He plays into his role on the Lakers perfectly. He gets the defensive assignment of the oppositions best SF/PF and he makes it a lot more difficult on that particular player to get into any sort of comfort level.
That said - Pippen didn't just cause discomfort on opposing players. He flat shut them down in his prime. He wouldn't hit one or two dagger threes in the corner because teams were focusing on Jordan.. he'd at times score 20, 25 a night.
There's huge differences between the two players.. even if you study their first four years.
If you want a comparison to a Scottie Pippen type player - look at Danny Granger. Same build.. same type of player. Can score, pass, defend, rebound and is a quiet leader much like Pip was. But even I will admit, Granger is worlds away from Pippen right now..
