Not every organization can be as poorly run as the Mets though. :smug:

They are legit problems for a team with that kind of payroll and expectations of not finishing in the basement of their respective division. That's one of the worst opening day rosters we've had in years. Cherington and Co. missed on everything this off-season and did absolutely nothing to improve the team, aside from bringing in Bobby V. Unless, of course, you want to consider trading for Bailey and Melancon something.

I wouldn't even consider Bobby V a great move although I do think he's a great baseball guy. Sooner than later, he'll wear out his welcome (unless he learned from prior mistakes). But I guess that's at least a couple years or three away.

Still, I'd take your problems any day. Get Crawford back eventually and bullpens are always crapshoots year to year anyway.

As expected the Tigers’ defensive alignment for Opening Day is a weird one. Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder, and Delmon Young are all in the lineup and yet the designated hitter is … Ryan Raburn, who’d be a better third baseman than Cabrera, a better first baseman than Fielder, and a better left fielder than Young.

Not sure he'd be a better third basement, tbh. And he's only a better left fielder than Young by default. Still a weird one.

Dumb "baseball" play.

Why do you send the signal to go on contact with 1 out? A deep flyball allows you to tag up, a hit scores you, even a grounder to the right side may even allow you to score.

Surprised they didn't drop a sacrifice bunt while they were at it.
