To no one's surprise, there will be a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. (C'mon, when Electronic Arts' CEO is talking tough about Battlefield 3 versus Call of Duty, he doesn't mean Black Ops.) Official PlayStation Magazine's latest edition includes a teaser for the game's big reveal in next month's edition.

The biggest game in the world returns soon. At least that’s the message in the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine. In a teaser for its July issue, the magazine depicts a large “3″, hinting at none other than Modern Warfare 3. We all knew it was coming, right?

Voice actor Craig Fairbrass had previously hinted that a Modern Warfare 3 announcement was imminent.

“I did Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as Gaz and then I did Ghost in Modern Warfare 2, which has become one of the more iconic figures in the history of computer games, which is great,” Fairbrass said during a radio interview.

“And I’ve just been out in LA doing something that’s going to be announced in May,” he added. “I’ve just been out there doing some bits and pieces, and one is to do with… I can’t say too much.”

I'll definitely pick it up. Isn't the new developer Sledgehammer doing this COD? If so, it'll be interesting to see how they do. Anyways, I still think Battlefield 3 will blow it out of the water.

Stopped playing MW2 a month in and still have never played Black Ops. BFBC2 kicks CoD's ass in every possible way.

I always catch flak for this, but here is my Call of Duty rankings online since MW.

1.) World at War

2.) Modern Warfare

3.) Black Ops

4.) Modern Warfare 2

That is just multiplayer. I love World at War because it was actually a challenge to play. A lot of weapons were semi-auto/bolt action, and it took skill to master them. There was also a good mix of maps and more large ones- obviously because the weapons had a lot of range on them. It also introduced Zombies.

Modern Warfare was a great experience and I don't think can be replicated online. I can still go back and play this, and World at War.

Black Ops has continued to do good things with Zombies, but it seems like I've done all of the same things before in the rest of multiplayer, because I have. The new maps I like because they are good sizes, and have multiple layers to them, but the rest of the online experience has been average.

Modern Warfare 2.....I didn't even make it to the highest rank in first prestige. I gained half of my rankings in the first 12 hours of gameplay when I took off work for it. I thought the game was very cheap in how they had nukes and how many people found ways to cheat in the game, or ran around no scoping with the Barrett 50 cal. Some of the perks and killstreaks in the game were downright cheesy. I honestly can say I hated this game.

There you have it. As Brnt said, if it is anything like MW2, count me out of playing online beyond the first week. I'll get it, as nothing beats the first week with the game with everyone on my friends list playing, but it'll soon be gone after that, probably replaced by AC3, ME3 or something else coming out around that time. Its time to make a change, but I don't think its going to happen. BF3 could really take over Call of Duty this time around.

The only bad thing I'm hoping doesn't happen is Activision doing to Sledgehammer what they (allegedly) did to Infinity Ward.

Build a money making IP, milk it for all it's worth and not pay them what they really owe.

Then again, if it isn't predefined that Sledgehammer's roll is to just make COD games, it could happen again.

Also, if Sledgehammer does fucking awesome (Dead Space is nothing to sneeze at) and gets ahead on DICE and EA, where does that leave Treyarch other than to either do another Black Ops game or also-ran game like they did with IW.

None of the recent campaign modes can touch Call of Duty 2. I think Modern Warfare had the best multi player though. I expect this to be just as lame as Modern Warfare 2 was after it was out for 2 weeks.

As lame as it may be now, Activision figured out how to put out a shooter that's as mainstream as McDonald's and 7-11.

Or rather, lucked into a smash hit with COD4 and managed to turn the words "Call of Duty" into a household name in a few short years.

Yup, people will buy this like it's going out of style and game journalists will praise it as being better than a cure for cancer, yet Battlefield will shit on it in every way that actually matters.

I prefer the COD engine or w/e the fuck you want to call it over the consoles BF games. Battlefield Modern Combat 360 was a joke, and I don't enjoy the engines for the BC series on 360/PS3. It feels slow as shit to me and sluggish. Hopefully BF3 brings te BF2 PC feel to the consoles, but I doubt it. I'm not a fan of vehicles in shooters either. Nothing worse then having some fucking retard run you over in a humvee while you are on a nice killstreak or actually found a good spot to rape the other team. Then again, you are going to have vehicles on the battlefield, but I've already done the real thing offline so I want to play the game that I prefer(COD).

That's because you don't play battlefield on the console. It was made for PC and will continue to be their first target.

Yeah they better realize they have SOLID competition now. BF3 just looks amazing based on the previews so far. BC2 multi player was pretty good too. The competition is a good thing. Hopefully both games with innovate and really push the envelope.

Right now I am looking forward to playing BF3....the graphics, sound and realism just look like something I have never seen from these consoles so far.

That's because CoD's speed is cranked up to 11. It's like a chicken with it's head cut off. That's why it caters to 12 year olds hopped up on ritalin.
