Spec Ops and Campaign are sure to be great- there is no issue there.
The multiplayer just feels like a small graphics adjustment and new maps (which I think are actually pretty good from what I've played.) It honestly feels like Fallout: New Vegas in the fact that you feel like you aren't getting a whole new experience. At least that is how I am coming away with it.
I also don't like what Infinity Ward did with the gun leveling system- I much rather preferred the cash system where you could immediately customize your classes instead of waiting to unlock items. Treyarch had a really good system there, and they missed that and the gun and emblem customizations.
The gameplay tonight was also very frustrating. While I stopped now right before accessing hardcore, I noticed that it doesn't take much to kill me, but I can load a half clip into someone and they won't drop or even register much damage when it goes to their killcam. Maybe I am used to Battlefield or just out of practice with COD, but I know I was not as bad as I was playing tonight- balance just doesn't seem there and it just wasn't enjoyable tonight, which is all I am looking for. I could suck worse than I did tonight and I would be fine if I had a good time and didn't come away frustrated. Hopefully tomorrow, after I get some sleep, will be better.
Bottom line......don't expect much in the way of new innovations to be honest. New weapons, a few new twists on perks and killstreaks, but its the same Call of Duty, love it or hate it. You won't have your opinion swayed by this game, but like me (who is apathetic towards the game at times) will still buy it.
I'll probably be on the multiplayer pretty frequently over the next two or three weeks, fitting the campaign in there somewhere, but that might be it. Shoot, I don't have a day off work until Sunday, and my friends birthday is this Saturday, so there won't be much time to play for me.
