Gamers love to fight, whether it's verbally via forums, or when it comes to fighting games to see who really are top chumps of the virtual rings.
Well if the latest estimated figures from VGChartz are to be believed, and if the trend continues over the following weeks, it appears that PS3 gamers have warmed more to Mortal Kombat 9 than their Xbox 360 counterparts.
For the week ending 23rd of April, Mortal Kombat 9 sold a mightily impressive 421,898 units on PS3 whereas the Xbox 360 version falls short with 310,085 units. A difference of 110,000 units might not seem like much in the grand scheme of things but could suggest that PS3 gamers are more in tune with the game than Xbox owners. Perhaps it's the extra content or 3D that has enticed gamers to pick up the PS3 version?
In case you were wondering whether Mortal Kombat's success on the PS3 is a fluke of nature, then look again as Capcom's Super Street Fighter IV tells a similar tale. To date, the game has shifted approximately 1.04 million units on PS3 and 690,000 on Xbox 360. In addition and using the same VGChartz data, the PS3 versions of Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and Tekken 6 sold more than the Xbox 360 versions. PS3 gamers simply love to fight!
