If that were the only one I saw, I probably wouldn't be interested in the others either.
You should check them out. The first two are classics. The third one is great too, doesn't get as much credit as it deserves. Sean Connery is great/funny in it.

Actually, it's the first and the third most people consider classics. The 2nd one is the one most hate (well, along with the 4th now).
I know. No way in hell I'm going to spend the entire weekend (or even a whole day) watching HP flicks. Besides, I've pretty much adopted a policy of not watching theatrically released movies on regular tv (with commercials). I keep telling myself I'm going to watch them all, just don't know when.

The Harry Potter series has some of the best character development, story-telling, and wit of any contemporary literature. Sure, it's starts a bit "kiddish" and light-hearted - but as the series progresses, the plot gets deeper and the subject matter matures. You're doing yourself a disservice. Steven King called Dolores Umbridge (a character who first really arrives in book 5) "the best written villain since Hannibal Lecter." Read them, for sure. Watch them if you just want to hear the characters' names pronounced. The movies look cool, but take too many liberties to make them screen feasible.
