Thanks , Kings were actually up all first half but they were completly relying on jumpshots from midrange-3point range.... in the 2nd half they started missing them and there defense was just horrible.

Time to look at the early MVP Favourites based on stats/all star votes/news on the game.

The Favourite

Lebron James is currently leading the NBA in scoring with 31 PPG . He has took his team to 6-4 at this stage in the season only behind Boston and Detroit in the East. Lebron has won all 3 POTW awards for the Eastern Confrence and is showing no signs of letting up.

The Underdog

Kevin Durant is 3rd in scoring in the whole of the NBA with 29 PPG. Durant is leading the Western Confrence votes for the SF position (All Star game) . The Thunder are currently 1 game under 500.

Making Progress

Kobe Bryant`s Lakers got off to a horrible 3-5 start to the season but slowly but surely things are turning round thanks to the help of the reigning league MVP. Bryant himself started off in patchy form until recently , in the last week and a half alone Bryant is averaging an amazing 33 PPG in an aid to get the Lakers back at the top of their division. He is a long way behind James at this point but dont be suprised if Kobe catches up.

Special Mention

Hamilton may not have the stats LBJ or Durant have but he is leading the top team in the NBA right now in scoring and assists . Hamilton has the most votes for any SG in the Eastern Confrence in all star voting. Hamilton`s highlights for the season include a double double against Boston in Boston and at home vs the Bulls. I doubt Hamilton will get MVP this season but for now he deserves to have his name up there with the top guys in the league.​

The 9-2 New Orleans Hornets

The Hornets have been dominant in the first month of the season with a 9-2 record , their offense has been mainly to thank for this . The offense is led by Chris Paul , hes been the man so far , wether its shooting or dishing out passes Paul has nearly always been on the money with his decision making.

Worries

The main worry coming out of this month has to be the way Houston manhandled New Orleans , Yao was the best player on the court by a mile.... nothing the Hornets did that day worked .

Strenghts

The noticable strength is obviously the offense , wether its getting in close with West/Chandler or spotting up jumpshots with Paul/Peterson/Posey/Peja. The Hornets have been mainly going to whoever has the hot hand on the day , Peterson , Paul , Stojakovic and Chandler have all had huge days thanks to this.

Weaknesses

There obvious , New Orleans struggles vs dominant big men , i know your asking who doesnt? But i mean the Hornets REALLY struggles v them.

Top 5 players of the Month for the Hornets

5 - David West

West averaged 31 PPG in his only 3 games of the month , there is little doubt in my mind that he would have been 1 or 2 on this list if not for injury.

4 - Morris Peterson

Peterson might not have amazing numbers but hes been solid all month , wether its shooting , assisting or rebounding hes been the total team player.

3 - Tyson Chandler

Chandler has been dominant on both the offensive and defensive end ... without him the Hornets wouldnt be above 500.

2 - Peja Stojakovic

Stojakovic has been truly amazing this month , his jumpshot has been about as perfect as it gets and in close hes improving game in game out.

1 - Chris Paul

Team leader , Team captain , Team everything . Theres not alot else that needs to be said about Chris Paul this month , he may not be leading the scoring charts every week but his role is so much more than that . Paul is argubly the teams best shooter and passer ... but his best quality has to be how clutch he is , when the Hornets need a play hes there.​

Peja will never put up 40+ in 2 straight games ever.

He didnt do it 2 straight , he put up 26 v the Kings . I cant miss with his jumpshot , imma mess with the sliders so the CPUs D is more improved.

If you look hes had games of 10 - 30 mostly then 2 crazy games but like i said il tweak with the cpu d.
