Definitely, he's been playing All-Star level ball. Certainly similar production to what he had with NO.

Just awful on all levels.

No context of league difficulty, styles of play, league-wide pace, etc. Not saying he's better than any of the other 30k club, because he isn't, but there's better ways of doing it then breathing really heavily into the mic and picking and choosing counting stats.

What do you mean really? Yes, really... you can't compare 1950s NBA, 1980s NBA and early 2000s NBA using raw counting stats. The methods of scoring and the amount of possessions based off the pace of the league has a huge effect on what scoring output someone can produce.

Again, not saying he was better than those others, that guy just went about it in the dumbest way possible. Derr derr Wilt scored 30,000 missing 1,000 less shots! Right, that makes total sense given how easily comparable Wilt and Kobe's offensive possessions were.

Any chance Durant hits 30,000 before he's 30 years old? I think its a bit funny that Kobe scored his 30,000th point playing the Hornets.

Before 30 is pretty unrealistic. He's a 1/3 of the way there by age 24, but that's six seasons and as the Thunder get better and Westbrook improves there's less raw scoring for Durant. Unlike Wilt he isn't the 100% focal point of the offense, so it's unrealistic to imagine he's going to average 30 ppg at any point in the next few years.

It will be fun to see though, I would think Melo would be closer than he is though he's only at 16,374 points.

If LeBron averages 24 PPG over the next 5 years, he'll be the youngest to reach 30K by two years.

I don't get pointing out the negatives around Kobe getting 30,000 points. HE HAS 30,000 POINTS!! It doesn't matter how or when he got there!! No one should be saying his is the GOAT or anything and even if they were at least Kobe has had the career that at the very least gets him into the team picture of all-time greats. As strange as it sounds because he followed Jordan Kobe's career has been underappreciated.

It's just more of the "nobody is better than Jordan" culture that basically ruins any discussion of greatness in the NBA. People just can't accept that MJ was the best of all-time but that doesn't immediately discredit every future player.

When are people going to talk about Dwayne Wade's rapid regression? Offensively he's fading slowly but he's a liability defensively.

20.4 PER, 53% TS%, 48% eFG%, 19.4 PPG. Just bad all-around numbers for someone of Wade's level.
