NCAA Football 13 Demo Impressions (Out now on XBL & PSN)

I like it a lot, it plays like a really good NCAA game, the new passing is nice. The animations seems relatively crisp but I can't help but get an empty feeling while I played it. I've played this all before. I've heard these announcers, I've ran all of these plays. I just don't feel anything different from this years game other than the ESPN integration. That's fine and all but we've had little to no changes since around 2007.

I'm on the fence about purchasing and some of my online dynasty's and lack of interest in Madden/NFL will probably make me buy it, but it just feels like a roster update with ESPN Integration. Nothing feels too different.

Also I really don't like the option pitch getting moved to the front bumper. I'll get use to it but it seems out of place and more difficult there.

I finally got to play the demo on PSN, even though I will be buying it for 360. I played Oregon vs. USC and liked the passing...the game itself seemed more fluid. The studio updates seemed spread out till the end when I got about 3 in the last 2 1/2 minutes of game clock. I will DL the Xbox version tonight.

I've noticed the designed non-play action bootleg plays, the rollout is straight up busted. If you don't manually control the QB, he runs straight into the DE. I hate manually rolling the QB out because I always outrun my blocks and have to make the throw quickly, as a result.

Yup...looks like it's more on the Madden side with Connected Careers. When I saw a NCAA FB video and they talked about how the game would tell you (as a coach) if and where your players were drafted, it seemed odd. Now I know why they did this for NCAA players.

Sure. I loved last years game. Was it perfect? Of course not. But I enjoyed the shit out of it.

yeah but we are talking about this years game. regardless, the game is the same every year. its got the same old broken plays, poor blocking and horrific AI. not to mention a unreal amount of glitches that people wont know about until after its released.

of course then we will get the usual...we have a patch coming line from EA. That patch will come out after 3 weeks of dealing with the turd. and in that time people will find more glitches that cant be addressed in the first patch because they didnt know about them in time, but they will come in the second patch...in about 2 months.

by then, everyone is off to madden...thank you, you just wasted $60 on a broken game you only played for a month

You forgot to mentioned the guy that comes in and says, "I traded it in at Gamestop for Madden and only paid $30 for Madden....what a deal!"

Then you get the guy that says, "Yeah, so basically you paid $90" for Madden."

The LB in man coverage isn't supposed to make a play on that ball this year... according to EA. Only players who "see the ball" are supposed to try and make a play. That is the downfall of man coverage - the defender is not watching the QB! I like that the LB wasn't able to pull out the superman jump swat animation this year but I was under the impression that this type of thing was "fixed". I guess not. At least the pass trajectories seem to be working.

there are a lot of times when defenders make plays on the ball in man coverage without truly seeing the ball. it's when they read the receiver. a lot of db's read clues on the wr - hands go up, eyes get big, other clues like that so it's not truly that unrealistic. but i do get your point.

This year they have done a amazzing job! Simply put...it just feels right. I can't wait for 12am Tue and hope to find a great league to play online!
