NCAA Football '13 Impressions Thread

I've played only vs. so far. Probably about 10+ games or so online and offline vs. friends.

Online the game plays very smooth. I did have the game lock up on the menu screen 3 times right before the game was loading.

Overall I like the game. Without going into too much strategy, man defense is beastly in this game. People have been saying its because zone is broke, but it really isn't that bad. I know people get critical of the blocking in the game, and zone busts and how some plays and things don't work. But sometimes in real football games you have busted plays or assignments so I don't mind it that much.

I have seen an absurdly amount of Tennessee Volunteer users. Out of the 10 plus games, more than half of my opponents have been the Vols??? I guess people are loving that Bray to Rogers.

Catch animations are well done and not overdone. Passing is nice on the game. You have to be patient with running and not use turbo until you have to and be patient through the holes in the run game per usual.

I've been playing with the season ticket, and the graphics on the Ps3 are pretty jaggy on the edges of models and letters. Pretty weird. Don't know if it's because it's not the full retail version, but pretty bizarre. Doesn't bother me any, but it is noticeable.

I'm palying on the AA setting I think thats the online setting. Cover 2 under man with the safety overtop will help the four verts, if you have th throw it deep the ball is in the air long enough for safety to get there.

I can honestly say that I think this game blows. I am 5-2 so far and the game is just not fun in my opinion. Everything about the game is just lame.

I played my mandatory Tulsa vs UCF first game, and won 19-14. It was a fun game. Heisman. I threw a pick-six right before half to give them a 7-0 lead going into the break, and then I got my shit pushed in on the opening kickoff of second half, fumbled, and they scooped and scored. Scored almost all of my points in the fourth (got a safety in the 3rd Q). Running the ball felt fun, and that's what my offense tends to be (smash-mouth..throw the ball maybe 10-15 times a game), so that was nice. Noticed some new tackles which were pretty cool.

Played one game of a Road To Glory or whatever it is. I don't like how the Spirit Time or whatever they're calling the "slow down time" thing takes the place of the Strafe button. As a FS/WR, I would like to have the ability to strafe haha. As soon as I finished the game, some weird freak power outage happened...at ONLY my house. Thinking it's a blown fuse, haven't checked yet. I don't know if it saved or not. My tv is stuck...power light shows it's on, but the screen is off. That sucks. This really has nothing to do with the game...so fuck off.

I think it is a lot more fun with the new scouting. Other random dynasty observations: the Championship Contenders page is new and interesting, telling you what your team might be ranked for the next 4 years. Also the toughest places to play list now goes through all 123 teams instead of top 25, random I know.

I love the animations and fluidity of the players. That is one thing that has always annoyed me.

Pretty solid so far. The passing game seems very open this year with leading receivers. Cannot wait to play it online.

I did contact them and they said that if I didn't receive the game today, which I won't because it's stuck at a shipping facility, they will give me a promotional credit.

I am left somewhat impressed. I never had an OMG moment, the rosters i have are terrible too. I think i might need to find sliders cause i sacked Rakeem Cato at least 9 times with WVU.
