With more and more people getting Netflix, I think having a Netflix based thread is a good idea. In this thread you will share with others movies you have watched on Netflix that you recommend them to watch. Movies that they would normally not have heard of.

I agree. The value in a subscription program like Netflix comes if you watch a lot of movies over the course of a month. If you only rent a few, you're better off doing it at a RedBox or movie rental store.



As for recommendations, Restrepo is a good documentary that follows an Army platoon during their tour in the Korengal valley in Afghanistan. Pretty intense film.

Meh. Torrents have their use, but it's hard to find rips that can duplicate the quality and experience you can get from an actual blu ray (or DVD, in some cases). With that in mind, I don't mind paying a monthly fee to get the best possible viewing experience.
 
to each their own i guess. i never have issues find a quality DVD rip. i never look for blu ray torrents...too big. But then again i never rented blu rays either. maybe 2 of them in 3 years
 
I just cancelled the DVD part of my Netflix subscription. I use the streaming almost every day. It's well worth the $7.99/month for me.

how is the selection for the streaming video? i had the free trial of netflix when it first came to the 360 and cancelled it because they didnt offer anything good
 
They recently restructured their company to be more of a streaming service over DVD. Research showed more people used their streaming over DVD delivery and as a result they've begun adding a ton of new stuff.

I buy blu rays, torrent and netflix cause I don't give a fuck. What kind of blows is I go to the theater so often I never anticipate new release torrents/blu ray releases anymore. If its a sweet movie, i'll just buy it on blu ray. If it's a average to shitty I just torrent it if they dont have it on netflix instant que.

Im really starting to love the TV shows on instant que.

I went to the premiere of this at the Los Angeles Film Festival in 2006. Most depressing night of my entire life.

Not only is the movie sad, but the director held a Q&A afterwards with the kids who were molested (and are now in their 30s and 40s). Super emotional.
