The fourth team involved looks to be the Clippers.

They'll take MarShon Brooks and throw a lotto-protected first round pick into the mix that will likely go to Orlando.

According to sources the Nets would receive Howard, Jason Richardson, Chris Duhon and Earl Clark in the proposed deal. The Magic would get Brook Lopez in a sign-and-trade, Luke Walton, Damion James, Shelden Williams, Armon Johnson and three first-round picks -- two from the Nets and a lottery protected first from the Clippers. The Cavs would get Kris Humphries in a sign-and-trade, Quentin Richardson, Sundiata Gaines, a first round pick from the Nets and three million in cash. The Clippers would receive MarShon Brooks.

Considering the overall value the Jazz and Nuggets got for Deron and Melo compared to this it makes it even worse. Trading the most dominant big man entering the prime of his career for an overpaid Brook Lopez and what seems to be no picks without some sort of protection as of now just really sucks. Yes it's a step towards rebuilding but they are barely acquiring any real assets in exchange for the flat out best center in the league, that isn't right. Brook Lopez is not a player you can build around, he is a compliment. This is worse than the Pau Gasol trade.

Well they had leverage for a little while until Howard decided that he'd stay for next year then decided he didn't want to stay next year, well maybe if they fire their head coach, oh wait, they fired the coach but he didn't like that it.

Sucks for Orlando but there's no longer a choice. They have a star that's basically saying "I only want to be traded to one team" so it absolutely kills their leverage and value.
