I'm not a Knicks fan, but those were an awful lot of matter of fact conclusions from a guy who hasn't watched the team play in 6 weeks. I missed the game tonight, but Lin is still essentially a rookie. Kids going to take his lumps and when you're playing a team that is throwing line after line of premier defenders at you, it's bound to happen.

The Heat played a ton of pressure on Lin, another one of those firsts Lin will experience and have to grow from. Get it out of the way now.
Knicks lost because of the 3rd quarter, sloppily. Have to be consistent for 4 qtrs.
Get some practices under their belt, some rest, and prepare for a tough schedule after the break.

Knicks have been playing with Zero practice time and a whole new roster once again, Honestly the Heat should of blown us out by whole lot more than that. Lin had a bad game and hasn't seen this type of D. He couldn't play aggressive like he has been doing and looked very tentative.
Ill take this as a learning lesson, the Knicks sure do look scary if everything starts to work out well. I liked seeing Melo on the block after the pick and roll wasn't working, He missed some passes but i want him to be aggressive since he won't to much of a factor in the pick and roll this way he gets his shots.

When he dribbles, bad things happen.
On that note, Lin picked up his dribble way too early and way too often tonight. Miami just threw the trap at him relentless. Hopefully he learns to adjust to it.
But what Miami did is really not all that complicated, it's how you stop the pick and roll.
Plus, that team is fast as all hell.
Yeah I'll say its a learnig curve for Lin, but as a coach you had to see he wan't on his game. So he shouldve turned to his big two Melo and Amar which he did not. He should have played Amare with Novak on the wing. The way Novak was hitting 3 and the threat Amare has coming off the pick would have gave us more problems than Candler in PNR.

The league is catching on to Lin's game....as Melo' said Lin is on the scouting report. As I mentioned earlier Miami wanted to send a message to the Lin and the Knicks and they did. However, when Miami has everything going they are the best defensive team in the league and that shouldn't be overlooked. Miami did things to Lin that other teams don't have the personel to do. Lin will be okay....he just needs to learn from it, which he will. I really wish the league didn't force him into all-star weekend, because he could use the rest.
When Walker returns he's going to struggle for minutes as Smith has taken most of his minutes and rightfuly so.
What message did Miami really send? The Nets and Hornets have already defeated this Knicks team.
Lin has improved them but the Knicks they are still a first round exit waiting to happen in the playoffs.

It is a message to the Knicks players themselves. Alot of people had been predicting the Knicks as a contender in the east. Miami has been doing this all season....people have been pumping up up and coming teams and Miami beats them down (see Pacers, Philly). There is a game within the game and Miami's players said as much (Wade and Bosh specifically). It was obvious the Heat set out to shut the Knicks down and they did. Had the Knicks won last night the Lin and Knicks craze would have went to an entire new level simply because they beat the Heat and the Heat knew this.
Believe it or not players around the league are taking note of Jeremy Lin and he is beginning to become a target of the leagues great players (see Deron Williams, see Miami last night, etc). Lin is going to have to adjust.

Pacers and 76ers are a neat story but neither are even a small concern to Miami/Chicago. I'd be happy if the Pacers could take one game from either team in a series.

No, I've heard people have serious discussion about it. I've heard people predict they could challenge become the 3rd best team in the East and challenge Chicago to play Miami in the ECF.
You're talking about stuff that doesn't matter...vegas, odds, fans, pundits etc. I'm talking abut Miami was sending a message to the Knicks players themselves.....a game within the game.
I just don't think Miami sent much of a message to anybody really. They were expected to blowout a non-contender at home who has only been fully healthy for 3-4 games. We'll see if you are right about the message to New York's players.

The Knicks will be better, Shumpert is a key part to our team who has been hurt. Everybody just got healthy within the past week and have had zero practice together. Lin has to be tired, he probably hasn't played these kinds of minutes in forever. He is also still learning and adapting, he only has played around 10 games.
Reason I said that is because Walker is a hooper, he dont mind going at it with the best SGs in the league. Fields jut seem out of place most times. Looking at the Knicks roster they have a ton of Guards to go with some undersized bigs. Knock don't need another score, they need a floor general type PG. Someone to direct the offense.
And on the Lin note, I knew Miami was going to come after him, but the shots that he did put up I was like "REALLY" he was just throwing some garbag up, I guess he was just out his flow.
