Except Russell Wilson did everything in his power to win that game. In the second half he looked great out there. Even finished with a higher passer rating than Matt Ryan.

yes he did. Yet still I have to believe since its easier for Wide receivers to roam around now-a-days that QBs look better then they really are and these are examples of that...of course Atlantas defense looked very pourous. Seriously, over time you may have to look at stats other than passing yards and completions to truly quantify a QBs value.

You are already at that point. It used to take a very special QB like Peyton Manning to start his rookie season, and even then he took his lumps and the team finished at the bottom again. Up until two years ago, teams were all in the mindset of drafting a QB and growing them on the bench.

Then the rules, especially following the lockout, have really limited defenses and protecting the QB. Last year was the start of things with Andy Dalton leading his team to the playoffs, and Cam Newton setting some records. This year, three rookie QBs lead their teams to the playoffs, and one of them won a division title. There were also five rookie starters from the onset this season, and two others ended up coming in and starting at some point- Foles and Cousins.

but this also means you are starting younger guys at all positions because of free agency. Its like a secondary college game for some teams

This started in 2008 when Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan led their teams to the playoffs as rookies. Since then, more and more rookies start from the get-go each year.
