NFL 2K12 (APF 2K8) NFL Rosters with all players

Curious if anyone has successfully done this (or if they've even tried)

I transfered NFL Rosters onto the backbreaker football game and they were decent so I know it works for me. But reading into how this works I feel a little overwhelmed. Truthfully I wanted to create some historic teams, 2005 Colts, 2002 Bucs, Greatest show on Turf, 98 Broncos, etc. I've always wanted Madden to put something like historic teams in the game but I highly highly doubt we'll ever see anything like that.

The 2K game is an ability based game as opposed to a ratings based game, so it's more about matchups than that #rating at the end of the day. It works because you can put two silver/gold D-ends in there (like freeney and Mathis) and they WILL give that offensive line hell if they don't have some talent at the ends. then again, it's been a while since I played the game soooo my memory could be fuzzy (probably is).

Anyway, it just seems complicated as hell and I don't know if I'm gonna feel like going through all that shit just to make one team.

2K8 actually does have ratings, their just hidden lol. And I failed at this. Came very close though but it just never came together. So yeah, fml.

they do but it's like their basketball game.

It's still an ability based contest where you have to take advantage of matchups to win.

ps3-the game has plenty of shortcomings, but its a nice representer of football.

i cant / dont want to get into the whole hex- thing and hat the limits the game has but its better then a bad madden...and the animations are just so pretty sometimes...and I make more realistic and more funkyer uni's than anyone else haha

It wont be brought back. the NFL has enough issues with the players association as it is, with guys like Jim Brown throwing a fit because of his likeness being represented in a game Madden will never be able to do it because there are to many people who would get upset about it.

I like NBA 2K11's historic Bulls team idea even though you have a somewhat limited selection. I don't think the purpose really was getting historic teams as it was playing with the different Jordan's but none the less it was fun playing that Jazz/Bulls 97 playoff series.

I'd like to play with the 05 colts and match them up against the 02 bucs, the 02 Raiders, 95 Cowboys.

However I feel like 2K would do a better job with their abilities based gameplay representing the way the guys actually played than madden.

Madden will bring back historic teams in madden 2013 and toss it as a brand new feature

So I've been playing around with it and once you start to get the formula it goes by faster.

That said, I've put a few hours into it today and I might be halfway done (if even)

if I finish this I'll post a vid showing my team (2005 Indianapolis Colts) and I'll start actively making more teams.

I've been looking all over the internet for some tips and have had absolutely no luck.

I've been looking so hard in fact, that I've come across Ram29jackson's posts at the 2K forums asking questions I would ask myself and even seen him on Youtube asking the same questions.

I know nobody is doing this but maybe Aso or Rams will see this

whenever I edit a generic player it will show up as edited in the game but when I try to start an actual match the console always crashes.

with the CAP's everything is good it's just the Generic Players that I try to edit that seem to set off the system crash.
