the wildcat alone is not enough to win, but neither is a running game for that matter. with chad pennington this year, since teh suprise has worn off, that team was 0-3. with a qb who can burn you deep they are 2-0. this wildcat is just like spydr said, it is 11 on 11 instead of 11 on 10 since you take the quarterback out of theplay. this is no different that the old reskins counter tre they used to run with riggins all day. people knew it was coming and they ran it successfully anyways. rams29 is a complete moron, this offense can be sucessful in the playoffs, and most likely will be especially if Henne stays on the path he is on. its not the wildcat if White is in shot gun. it becomes a shotgun spread because your a fool to run a real QB that much on purpose in the NFL.

Second , White is hardly a "real QB" .... he ran the pure spread in college and was according to most people , better at running then he was passing . He had games where he would carry it 20 times

Of course v NFL defenses you wouldn't ask him to run 20 times but I'm sure they have no worry about asking him to carry the ball 5-7 times if it was working

The team is screwed. My point being, a team is going to draft a QB who they think is good at QB. If he is only good at being a QB in the wildcat, the draft was wasted and not effective in the long run or even near future.

Well the jury is out on whether White can play quarterback in the NFL

He had a stellar college career but that was in the spread option (If I remember correctly)

It's basicly the main reason + his size why he was taking in the 2nd round even though he had a better career than some ahead of him.

It's a game of using what your team is good at .... the Fins have 3 good runningbacks . So why shouldn't they put um all on the feild at the same time . They also have a highly paid run blocking offensive line ... another + to running these sort of formations

Chad Pennington (I know it's Henne now) + these wrs in a conventional offense would be less effective than the sort of style they use right now
