I guess players in the locker room could look nice before putting the actual uniform on.


White on white , red on red , black on black etc always make for ugly uniforms.
Jersey and Pants should always contrast other wise it looks like a Pajama set.

The helmet is nice.

Guess I fail to see a big problem with a few blackout games and the one game vs Florida with black helmets. Not like we're talking about Oregon-lite or anything.

first, it sounds like he doesnt like the jerseys to begin with...

But if everybody's got enough time to digest it and just think about what's most important and that's playing the game, I think we'll all be fine."

also, outside the black helmets against Florida in 2009, everything else had been worn in UGA's history.

like previously stated, i would have loved to wear a white/red combo like we wore in the 80's, but Nike and others wanted the all red vs all blue look for Labor Day weekend in the Dome.

I don't take that quote to mean he hates them. I take it as a means to deflect backlash by sounding lukewarm on the whole idea.

As for them being "historical", I'll just say there must be a reason they haven't worn them in a long time. If you're going to do throwbacks, do them exactly as they were, not an influenced design (a la last year's OSU PCs).

i took it as, "i don't like it, the fans don't like it, but the players like it. Its only one game, just accept it and move on"

i would have done it a little differently but meh. I hate the jerseys but its a one game deal and i can deal with it.

My biggest thing is the lack of silver in these jerseys. Also, the red stripe on the helmet/facemask is supposed to pay hommage to Erk Russel :shrug:
