NL MVP?

For the record, I don't care what the Brewers record was. I brought that up for the herp derp posters here (like Empire, who also appears to think you have to qualify as the best player for half the season, go figure retarded idea from a retarded poster) who think a player needs to be in the playoffs to win MVP. I look at the stats, that's it.
 
Doesn't need to be a playoff team, but if you have two guys and 1's team is a few games over .500 and the other team is a division champion, bet your homer ass it matters.
 
It's a pretty close call in my opinion, but I've got to go with Ryan Braun. He's put up better numbers, and while the Brew-Crew might not be able to get into the post-season, he definitely led the charge late in the season to bring them back to being even close to the picture. He definitely wins the NL MVP in my opinion. McCutchen would be #2.

6 is not a few games. If the bullpen wouldn't have sucked dick the Brewers would be way ahead in the WC chase and it wouldn't be close. Not Braun's fault that the pen decided to suck ass in the first half.

2 more hits and a RBI today. .316 AVG, 40 HR, 108 RBI on the season. Also reached over 100 R scored on the year as well.

I think these numbers prove that maybe Braun hasn't been the most valuable. With Gooby being a legit candidate, that takes it down a notch for Braun, and then the rest of the offense is hitting on all cylinders. When you take into account that Cutch and Posey are essentially carrying their respective teams with their bats, that's not the case for Braun.

If our bullpen didn't suck dick, then we'd be even more ahead in the WC chase. Like I said, you shouldn't be this close because of the bullshit overturned suspension.
 
I voted for Posey because his team is the only team that is going to be in the playoffs most likely. Cutch had a great year but he really tanked bad when the Pirates started falling. Braun cheats so fuck him. Posey by default.

I guess that's true but no player is going to carry his team to a 25-7 record over a time frame, no matter how one person does it's going to be a team effort when you have been on the roll like Milwaukee has.

It's not just Posey who has been hitting for SF either.

Bumgarner: 4-1, 32.0 IP, 27 H, 9 ER, 2.53 ERA
Lincecum: 3-0, 25.0 IP, 19 H, 7 ER, 2.52 ERA

So, it's not just Posey who has been carrying the Giants. Pablo, Scutaro has just been as impressive lately.

Like I said, I would give the nod to Posey right now, but if MIL sneaks in, it should be Braun.

Maybe the Pirates started falling because their pitching staff and bullpen were pitching way over their heads for 3 months and regression finally caught up to them. Maybe Cutch just had a bad two weeks and has gone on to rake ever since. Maybe he's equaling Braun in production for the month of September, just on a far less talented team.
