I think these numbers prove that maybe Braun hasn't been the most valuable. With Gooby being a legit candidate, that takes it down a notch for Braun, and then the rest of the offense is hitting on all cylinders. When you take into account that Cutch and Posey are essentially carrying their respective teams with their bats, that's not the case for Braun.
I guess that's true but no player is going to carry his team to a 25-7 record over a time frame, no matter how one person does it's going to be a team effort when you have been on the roll like Milwaukee has.
It's not just Posey who has been hitting for SF either.
Sept. #'s
Pablo: .316 AVG .373 OBP, 4 HR, 13 RBI
Belt: .298 AVG .365 OBP, 3 HR, 15 RBI (57 AB)
Scuatro: .412 AVG, .430 OBP 0 HR, 18 RBI (85 AB)
Posey: .354 AVG, .402 OBP, 4 HR, 15 RBI (79 AB)
It's pretty much been Pablo, Posey Scutaro and Pence has been driving them in when he has need to.
Pitching has been really good for SF in Sept. as well:
Cain: 1-1, 30.1 IP, 14 H, 8 ER, 2.37 ERA
Bumgarner: 4-1, 32.0 IP, 27 H, 9 ER, 2.53 ERA
Lincecum: 3-0, 25.0 IP, 19 H, 7 ER, 2.52 ERA
So, it's not just Posey who has been carrying the Giants. Pablo, Scutaro has just been as impressive lately.
Like I said, I would give the nod to Posey right now, but if MIL sneaks in, it should be Braun.
