the system is working today. Put a game in and its working. It wasnt even hot last night when this happened, but maybe the lengthy amount of time it was on cause the issue and now its cooled down.

called MS and the warranty is expired. I got it in 2006 so i guess i got a long time out of it. If it lasts me until im done with MW2 i will be happy

But I thought you said you got at least one RROD on it previously. If so, and you sent it back to M$, the warranty started over from that time.

i did send it in once before....i think it was last year....maybe 2008

Anyways your gpu probably overheated. You will probably get some more life out of it but the damage is done. This really doesn't have much to do with the xbox being a piece of shit and more of you had it on and gaming for 11 hours straight.

not that it matters, but not 11 hrs straight. i did have it on from about 5 pm to 1 am though. Thats a long time.
But regardless, i feel like i got my moneys worth out of this console

My one buddy has his on for a week straight trying to get passed visions in Rock Band 2 during the endless setlist. He used to do things like this all the time, like leaving it on all night and shit.

His xbox lasted 10 months lmao.

This is fairly standard for replacement warranties on electronics.

I've been playing more of my Xbox since I just got it replaced (bought a new one). I made sure it was a Jasper model. I'm still careful with it, just because I now expect it to RROD. :lulz:

And I'm more pissed that apparently this is a policy change. Maynard's link even says "New Post-Service Warranty".

When my third one broke I was told by the rep that my warranty started over.

How can they just downgrade a warranty policy like that?

If I buy a NEW 360 at the store I get a THREE YEAR warranty for RROD and E74 and a one year for anything else. Why would it be any different if I get a replacement?

lmao....i just bricked my 360. our studies show that if you do not have video the prudent thing to do is wrap a towel, or in this case, a thick comforter around your xbox 360. Causing an intentional over heating to an already broken system to provide yourself with a big old helping of red ring of death.

well i decided to pick up an arcade model for $199. I got $40 in trade for my bricked 360, which i thought was great since it was dead. I also traded in a few games that i am not playing. All that included the gamestop rewards card bonus that i got.

i paid $120 for the new system. Not to bad since the deciding factor was that i got a Jasper model. Plus i have the hard drive and now i also have a hdmi port on my 360
