I'm really happy that both Uncharted and Borderlands sold really well but disappointed that PS3 sales dropped off already. Plus Wii back on top with the price drop. Lame.

Alotta parents buy em for little kids. Cheap system + cheap games + great library = win.

Yea its pretty much the Wii for Sony because of the game selections. Lot of the kiddie games end up on the PS2. The PS3 has pretty much turned into the 16+ system now.

I'm extremely curious about MW2 sales for November on all platforms. Last I checked there were 3 million people on the PS3 Leaderboards alone...

First day sales alone was over 7 million. The estimated first week sales figures on the 360 is estimated to be around 5.5 million units, which completely destroys the former number one (GTA: San Andreas). If you combine the 360, PS3, and PC sales, first week sales would be over 2.5 times the number that GTA:SA sold.

Not to sidetrack but it's an awesome game. It got stuck in my back catalog for quite some time and I finally played through it prior to GTA4's release.

To continue with the sidetrack, I never actually bought or beat San Andreas. I think I rented it twice and got up until the very end of the game and just never beat it.

i think a lot of people looked past it, especially on the ps3 side since uncharted came out the same day, and a lot of people were just waiting for mw2. i played the demo and thought it was pretty good but with all the big games coming out i wasnt going to pay 60 bucks to play it for a short time and then shelf it for a while. ill definitely pick it up when it goes down in price.

I watched something on Gametrailers and I remember the creator was really excited that a ton of games had moved out of the holiday season to make way for MW2. I guess sales weren't as good as he had hoped.

Do you mean Tim Schafer? If so, he is the exact reason why I hoped the game sold well. This is actually the first Schafer game I have ever played and I really like it. I really want to play Psychonauts but I refuse to pay some outlandish price for a download only copy on Live Marketplace.

Like Crimson said, I think the release date was horrible. Pitting it against Uncharted 2 was retarded. Oh well, maybe it will be one of those games that people pick up for their kids for xmas.

On a side not I am very glad to see Uncharted 2 doing so well. I always get worried about the PS3 exclusives because the user base is so low. So many great games get the shaft (in sales)because not enough people own the system.
