Also looks like Hedo are the Pistons first option...although I personally hope we don't get him as I believe he's overrated.

That was meant to be a statement of truth....not a question. The Blazers should want the ball in Roy's hands, because his playmaking ability gives them the best chance to win games. I like Turk's game, but he's generally useless if he isn't dominating the ball. Miller has a nice game though, but with Roy they really don't need a traditional PG....just a guy that can hit the open shot. However, Miller also has a good post game, so it will be interesting if they utilize that. What this team really needs is time though, because they have all of the pieces....a top notch perimeter player in Roy, a good bigman in Aldridge and assuming Oden can stay healthy and out of foul trouble an at least servicable bigman who rebounds and blocks shots. I would like to see them get Bayless some more time though.

Sorry it sounded like you were disagreeing with me, I agree and that's why I don't think Miller and Turk would be a good fit, they need shooters and defenders, not playmakers.

Bring that mother fucker to town.. hes continuously improving his game and would most definitely entice Chris to want to stay in town. A lot of white dudes for one starting lineup.. but Turk is so versatile that id welcome him with open arms... plus dude is CLUTCH. We need a clutch scorer we can go to in the 4th to help out Chris, and especially Bargs and Jose, who have had to come up clutch in big situations but arent really reliable to do that consistently.

I tend to agree with that article as well. Main reason I thought it would be good for Portland before is because they desperately need veteran experience. You could see in that team last season that they were good, but they looked overpowered a lot of times and in the playoffs they acted like they thought they shouldn't be there (lost by an average of almost 10 points a game in the 4 games they lost).

I could see a veteran player really getting them over the hump no matter whether he specializes in offense or defense, however, I agree that a defensive veteran player would be a better addition.

Day two of FA and word in Cleveland is still the same. Going after Artest/Ariza. Seems like Cleveland is set on moving LeBron to the 4. Letting one of these guys (if we get them) take over the 3. Don't know if they'll sign Varejao again to pick up bench minutes? I would think they would let him walk and let a guy like J.J. get more minutes.

It seems like whoever doesn't get Hedo is signing Ariza at this point, right now the Blazers have made the biggest offer, and Toronto is deciding whether or not to match it.

When your options are limited, you move players around.

Getting Ariza/Artest is having the Cavs let go of Varejao. The Cavs roster doesn't support anyone at that "starter" status at PF, Excluding Joe Smith. of course. They could plug in guys at this point but all of them are unproven.

The Cavs are also not offering up bench minutes for Ariza/Artest. These guys will want to be in the starting line-up. Not playing behind LeBron James.

James moves to PF that opens up a starting spot at SF. Plug in Ariza/Artest (I hope we get one of them) and let guys like J.J. Hickson, Darnell Jackson, and Jawad Williams share the garbage minutes with LeBron not on the court.

I understand that, but my point is that LeBron really isn't going to be the PF in the traditional sense. On paper he may be listed at the PF spot, but that is because there isn't an option for "basketball player". IMO a team like the Cavs who outside of Shaq really don’t have defined players who play defined positions should just take up the designations of centers, forwards and guards.

Last I checked there isn't a SF/PF or PG/SG option on depth charts. So it is just Centers, Forwards and Gaurds.

There is a different mindset in Cleveland than everywhere else. First off it's a market that doesn't get a lot of attention. The city itself is humdrum. You can be a "star" but you really don't have "star-status" like New York, L.A., Miami, etc. Fans love you no doubt and whoever comes to Cleveland is going to get a lot of love.

There really isn't the "star-power" atmosphere surrounding Cleveland. So taking that away doesn't give "egos" a lot of room to flourish. It's unselfish basketball in Cleveland. Anyone who comes to Cleveland is coming to play team ball, not me ball.
