Ok here's something I was thinking about that would eliminate about 90% of the cheese from madden.
It needs some sort of play/route commitment feature for the D. Instead of just run commit and pass comit, you could commit to certain routes.
It happens to us all and we all hate it, when you know exactly what your opponents offense is doing and you still cant stop it. On average 3 times a game, I'm 100% sure my opponent is running a screen and I still can't stop it consistently. Or I'm 100% sure that they're going to run a curl route but my stupid defense still can't react to it.
It could work something like this....
Before the ball is snapped you could press "RT/R2" and it brings up a list of routes/play types. You can simply press "O" and your defense will commit to a screen. Or "X" and your defense commits to the very effective curl route that your opponent has ran the last 4 downs.
Now granted it's a risky thing to use. If you commit to a screen and your opponent does a Hail Mary then it's a TD.
But this should eliminate the very effective cheese plays that your opponent can run 10 times in a row with no problem.
