I'm having a hard time thinking of an offensive skill guy who is setting the world on fire at the moment, maybe Geno Smith or D'Anthony Thomas. If ND goes undefeated leading up to the vote and Te'o keeps on playing well he's going to be a contender.

UND narrative + overcoming obstacles narrative + great defensive player and team captain + no standout offensive guys among the NC contenders... It could be the perfect storm.

I find it very odd with all the national title contenders like LSU, Bama, Oregon, Florida State, and even Georgia/South Carolina in the top 6 of the polls... not a single one of them has a clear cut Heisman candidate on their team. Not to say they won't when all is said in done in December, but right now, they don't.
