i pre ordered one already twigg, last week.

the release date was 12/31 but the guy said its going to come out sooner for the holiday rush. Ima ctually thinking of getign 2 to make some money off it.

Where did you pre-order it? I wasn't excited at all until I watched that video above... but, that could have been the girly men too.

I know you can preorder on amazon, not sure if the stores have started doing them yet or not. I'll swing by the store tomorrow and find out for you.

I see that you can pre-order at Gamestop but they want full payment now ( at least it appears that way). I really don't want to pay for all of it 6 months before it comes out.

I'n guessing you're just referring to online Garrett because I know they are taking pre-orders for them in-store at GS as well. I'm not sure how much you need to put down though.

I think they are confusing it with the UK retailer that had 11/4 release date. Doubt it's coming out that early for UK.

I honestly think it will. The quicker they get it out the quicker they bury the 3DS. I honestly don't think that retailer would have that date without any reason. Most retailers hold onto the placeholder date of 12/31. As far as the US date is concerned the US normally gets stuff before the UK or the same day. It is hardly ever the other way around. With the 1st PSP the US got it 6 months before the UK.

I too wish....but GameSpot stated that the retailer also listed a rather unlikely looking range of Vita launch titles, including Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Bioshock, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone, Resistance, Ruin, Modnation Racers and Street Fighter X Tekken, which are all also being offered for pre-order for the same date as the new console.

edit: I also edited my OP (before your reply) because I was thinking of the UK and JPN...not even thinking of US. I don't think Sony is going to release it here first before "thanking" JPN for supporting the PSP with all the Monster Hunter love.

If this is true, which I doubt it is, but if so it could be the greatest console launch in history. All of those games are AAA titles. And I would probably buy all of them, except for SFXT.

The PSN is still down in Japan. Releasing the Vita without the PSN is exactly like Nintendo releasing with out the e-shop. I'm still thinking worldwide release. I think the days of scattered releases are over. Games are being localized at a much quicker rate. The system is region free. No reason to truly have a different release date for different regions.

While I'm hoping and praying that release date holds to be true, it does make a lot of sense to launch the platform before the holiday season. Definitely a day 1 purchase for me as well. Is there really a Killzone game coming out for it at launch or soon after? If so, I'll definitely pick that up as well.
