I am guessing this is a niche game. Most people wont like it b/c its not COD 4. Graphics look great and it looks like a game of great patience. I heard 1-2 shots and your dead.

if its as realiistic as they say and has a decent length SP mode with solid gameplay, i would play this.....play this for SP and COD for MP

cod SP is pretty weak. its all linear and very short. the best missions from 4 was the plane where u could bomb the shit out of that village.....and 5 had the boat mission.....those were great, the rest was meh unless u were doing coop

thats what made
R6V so great was the SP mode was stealthy and u had some options for entry

yep PC version. it was a great game. the enemy AI was spectacular for it's time and I assume it'll be more of the same with the sequel.

A co-worker of mine is a HUGE fan of these games. He's more into Arma and Arma 2 these days. He says they're uber-realistic.

i hate when games get dumbed down for pussies or children. glowing enemies radars, waypoints, etc........fuck me why not just shoot the fucking gun for me ya know?

Unfortunately it's not being made by the same people who made the original OF, so if you're a fan of that game then the true sequel is ArmA/ArmA 2. OF2 seems like it's going to be a bit more arcade, if you want realism then give ArmA 2 a go.

The infantry combat in ArmA is the most realistic that there is, the tanks and aircraft could be simulated a lot better, but the game is really based around infantry combat. For the most realistic in armor warfare go with Steal Beasts Pro PE, for air warfare LOMAC.

interesting review. I wonder how bad those menus really are. That could be a game killer imo. How you supposed to tell your squad what to do when your in a firefight and fumbling thru menus

they could be making to much of it though and the menus may be ok. Whats bad for this guy may not be the same for the next guy. One thing i dont like is the hardcore mode not having any save points. This is a stealthy strategic game and that can take a long time. Nothing pisses me off more then getting killed at the end of a mission and having to start over....in this case from the beginning of the mission. you spend an hour on a mission and have to start over again....fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

coop sounds cool, but MP seems worthless....this reviewer didnt even say how many maps there are.

I might rent it, but with MW2 right around the corner, this game may not get a look until next year when the silly season dies down
