pause throw is becoming a gamekiller

i posted this at OS right after my game with moonbebad. He was nice enough to allow me to concede after the score being 9-1 in the 4th

i dont know what i am doing wrong. I hope its me and not the game because if i cant fix this i wont be playing this much longer. It wasnt just this that allowed his runs. errors are part of baseball and missed plays and so on....i have no problem with that stuff. but this pause throw thing is an issue that i hope can be fixed......

any help?

i am so disgusted right now. playing online my IF keep doing this pause before they throw the ball. I had 3 instances in just 4 innings where my SS would pause before throwing the ball. I would preload the throw and he would just hold it so i would have to hit the button again and by then it was to late. or he would hold the ball before throwing it

i tried preloading as the ball is rolling to him. I tried pre loading as he was gathering it. I tried throwing it after he had it. but i keep getting the pasue.
guys do it in the outfield too. They do that crow hop then stop before throwing it. it is now a situation where i dont even want to play because of this. It turned an otherwise good game into a 9-1 BS game. lucky the guy i was playing allowed me to concede the game which disgusts me even more to have to do that.

i can turn off the throwing meter offline, but for my online league i cant do this. i dont want to turn the meter off. some guys are saying there is a way to time preloading the throws but nobody is saying how. i wish you could practice fielding without it being RTTS. At this point idk what to do about this

its an offline thing too. it happens alot with my IF's....usually the SS and 2B

I have it happen alot to, its not a very long pause but its noticeable, and if its to 3b and you have someone like Juan Pierre running its going to bite you in the ass.

Maynard have you tried maybe charging the balls and throwing on the run? I dont think ive seen the pause while running at the ball.

Happen to me when I first played but not since, it seems like on ground balls you must press the base a bit earlier than last year. I actually have no problem with it

i havent seen it yet...i did notice in our game Maynard u didnt get the back end of the 4-6-3 DP throw off from second...I suggest we start recording these instances and posting them @ OS. Also check to see if maybe its being caused by a "bobble" by the fielder which would prolly throw off anytiming in the preloaded throw.

it didnt happen at all in our game last night. Which is good.

but like gangsta mentioned, i think u have to start your preload sooner on grounders. but i cant say for sure because there were times in our game when i knew i was late and i was thinking oh shit....but the pause didnt happen

It happened to me and cost me the game. Man on 3rd with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th (tie game). He hit a slow roller to the mound and the man on 3rd held. I threw to 1st and the man on 3rd broke for home. I had X held right after I threw to 1st and Derrick Lee caught the ball and stopped for a long second and then decided to throw home and the guy made it. It should have been an easy double play but that pause lost it for me

Can a catcher do a quick throw to 1st if you pitchout? I thrown a pitchout but he always pauses. I try to hold on to circle right after my pitcher throws it but it won't prevent the pause. Don't know if I'm doing it wrong or it just can't be done.

I don't know if this mechanic works correctly, at least I've not seen it.

In 09 it was the same thing.

I'd throw to 1st from the catcher, but even if the base runner was caught, his animation would speed up a bit to get him back to base on time.

Anyone else seen that?

I was picturing you kicking your dog or breaking your controller when that happened. When it causes you to lose a league game, you will snap.

Hasnt happened to me, but it happened to my buddy a few times offline when I played him. I suspect its a timing thing, even though you probably dont want to hear that.

it has already cost me games
but i agree, its a timing thing cause it hasnt happened in a few days

I 've seen it.. Its like the fielder feels the need to square off to 3rd before doing anything else.
