One Cleveland Browns fan had to learn the hard way that fans also can be penalized for excessive celebration.

Rob Stipe, a 35-year-old season-ticket holder in the Browns' famous Dawg Pound, told The Elyria Chronicle-Telegram that he was removed from the stadium during Sunday's comeback victory over the Miami Dolphins for "excessive standing."

Stipe said a stadium employee asked him to leave during the third quarter for standing during a television timeout. Stipe stood during the first quarter and received a warning.

Team employees told Stipe that a policy had been enacted to remove anyone who stood after receiving a warning. Fans may only stand during third and fourth downs and during game stoppages, the team's head of security informed Stipe last year.

"I hate the people who sit down at a game," said Stipe, who received a warning in the third quarter Sunday. "It's not that I try to stand and (expletive) everyone off. I want everyone to stand so that when we're on national TV, we don't look like lumps on a log."

You can stand during game stoppages, but not TV timeouts?

Are they fucking serious? It's standard procedure in college games for fans to stand throughout the entire game, or at the very least most parts of it. I hope this guy caused a huge ruckus as he was being escorted out.

This reminds me of an Eagles game I went to in Dallas. After the national anthem there was this Dallas fan who kept standing after the national anthem. People were yelling and screaming at him to sit down but the guy just kept standing there, smirking, sipping his beer and defiantly standing there. He stood there until the middle of the 1st quarter until an usher came down. After a brief confrontation, the fan was removed.

Point is in a perfect world you would think people would have enough sense and respect for other people to stand when it is appropriate. The truth is, there are enough ass hats that go to these games to do nothing else but to make a spectacle of themselves to apparently make this rule necessary.

Understandable situation.

I think the NFL needs to follow football a bit and denote "supporter sections" or something. The dawg pound in Cleveland should be like this, it's silly what happened here especially cause it wasn't during the fucking game either.

Make the upperbowl and a section of the lower bowl a standing section.

Pretty wild that Ohio would have less restrictive gun laws than Texas on that. If I were found to be carrying at a Spurs game, I might be able to talk my way out of it with the judge depending on what I did to be detained by the police and led them to discover I was carrying in the first place. If I got caught carrying in an establishment with the 51% sign (meaning more than 51% of the business is alcohol sales) on the door, I would most likely just lose my CCL.

I've only been to one NFL game, it was in Denver. Other then that, all the games I've attended are at Camp Randell in the student section, where obviously you stand the entire game and try to be loud as fuck.

The Broncos won the game I was at, and like a good fan I tried to be loud as fuck whenever they were on defense, since the seat in front of me were unoccupied I found the best way to be loud was to lean forward and clap my hands on the plastic seat in front of me. It was pretty effective IMO. Some old dude, had the nerve to tell me to stop clapping because it was to loud and causing his seat to shake (he was in the same row as the empty seat). Obviously this was fucking ridiculous, especially considering Old Mile High Stadium had a reputation of actually shaking when the fans got loud. I told the dude to fuck off and go home, luckily I didn't get kicked out because it would have ruined the trip.

That's never happened to me though, I always leave mine in the center console of our vehicle when we go to a high school or professional sports event. I don't know what the laws are in Texas but in Wisconsin it's illegal to even have your concealed carry weapon in the vehicle when you're near a school. I assume you're parking in a school parking lot.
