Possible goodbye to the Pro Bowl

Didn't a Miami RB tear his knee in the pro bowl like 5-10 years ago or am i thinking something else?

Robert Edwards(played for NE at the time...later cameback with Miami) shredded his knee in a sand flag football game.

In the end whether it is here or not depends on money. According to the viewing numbers the game did well.

I'm not caught up in the entire trying hard thing. Other sports can be really entertaining when the players aren't "trying hard". Football isn't one of those IMO.

It's only a matter of time before the owners get rid of this game or someone shreds a knee in it and it's done.

I think at the end of the day, this is the correct answer...nice bounce back thread for FirstTimer after his poor efforts in the Eli thread.

The Baseball, Hockey, and NBA All-Star games have done things to make their "weekend" and game more attractive despite the product being given to be lazy in comparison to the effort put forth in their real product.

The NBA has an entire weekend...dunk contest, different skill competitions...and the game is high scoring and full of And1 Mixtape madness by the pros. Its not serious or pretentious...its just a fun weekend for the fans.

The NHL, similar to the NBA puts together an entire "weekend" they added a little fantasy draft scenario which is fun, and the game is high scoring and fun to watch.

Baseball, has the skills competition like annual HR Derby, and gave the AS game some incentive toward actual competition.

The NFL is very non-fan friendly with it being out in Hawaii, no real effort put forth in the skills competitions, and a game that is popular due to its brutality, is softer than a 7-on-7 flag football game. The effort they put forth is actually embarrassing to watch and the experience (I had the "privlege" of going to the Pro Bowl in Miami, and it was the most corporate non-fan friendly piece of shit exhibition I've ever been to. I walked out early and was insulted by the product on the field...I at least expect some kind of competition between corners and wide outs, if even friendly, but you have players half assing it and lollipopping it the entire game, every position. It is truly insulting to watch.

Anyway, I can see this happening, especially if the guys who are actually selected to the game keep dropping out of it, and being replaced by first, second and even third alternates. It just seems like the players don't want to deal with it, and from their perspectives, I understand it. They just finished a season in a brutal sport, and most of these guys have already cleaned out their lockers and are home with their families. The last thing some of them want to do is hop a plane to Hawaii and suit up again and be part of the media circus.

Most of these players get paid millions for 20 games. Fuck that shit. That is so fucking annoying that kids playing on the street play with more heart and passion then players getting paid millions plus incentives for making the pro bowl and they can't play hard for a quarter.

billion dollar buisness with their investments making a LOT of cash.. Nothing
better than playing a meaningless game and watching their investements take

then send the pic to Canton......done!.. no more risks & a forever moment
captured for the HOF.. If you owned a multi-billion dollar buisness and found
out that your bigtime representative who makes well over 7 figures X 10min.
was gonna be gone for an extended period of time, how would you react ??

Yeah that sounds like a great idea. Pay the athletes more for 3 hours of not really trying hard at their job than any of the viewers will make in their life ... Really good way to stay in touch with your fanbase.

The solution is to just stop doing it. There will never be enough fans or players who care. It's useless and has been useless for decades.

Alright so a million is a little out there. But if you figure most of the "best" players in the league that get paid the big high dollars make about $500k - $1 million per game if you divide their season yearly salary by 16.
