Raiders take terrelle Pryor in 3rd round

It's really not that dumb of a move. Instead of drafting a 6 foot 200lb WR that runs a 4.3 they get a 6'5" 230lb WR that runs a 4.3 and can literally throw while running.

The Raiders didn't have a 4th round pick (I think that was given up for Campbell), so it was either a 3rd or 5th. If they waited for the 5th, they might have missed him, so they used the 3rd.

Considering he is saying he'll do whatever it takes to play, including change positions, I don't mind the pick. The guy can play WR right now or bulk up and be a very fast TE (with probably awful blocking, but other TEs in the league are just as bad, without nearly his speed). Him being picked in the 3rd round isn't a terrible pick, especially when you consider Matt Jones went in the 1st round and the two have nearly identical measurements and 40 times. Jones was a bust, but he did set a strange precedent. Plus, Oakland needs help at WR and TE.

I like Pryor and I was one who thought he can be a good pro down the road but the raiders dont have a clue on how to develop a young QB especially Pryor who needs more help to transition than most of course im hoping he does good things for the raiders down the road but as a raider fan I highly doubt

Hue Jackson worked with Spurrier to have people believing Patrick Ramsey could be a decent starter, helped bring back Carson Palmer from a blown out knee, got a few decent starts of Redman/Harrington in Atlanta, helped develop Joe Flacco, and even got some mileage out of Bruce Gradkowski. I'm not saying he's the one to lead Oakland to the promised land, but Jackson has made a career making chicken salad out of chicken shit with his quarterbacks.

i was listening to cris carter yesterday on mike and mike. he made valid points about what it takes to be a receiver, about route running. not saying that pryor cant be converted, he may be better suited for te.

So yeah none, you could maybe argue tomzack if you look at longevity as a NFL back up.

Or tupa as a punter.
