Suarez is a racist, diving, cheat. He has a pattern of biting people. He didn't 'mean' to insult Evra but for a guy who's been in Europe for a decade sure doesn't understand that you don't call European black men that, regardless of what you call them at home. Liverpool's tone deaf response to that incident certainly didn't win any friends in the media for Suarez. The media is pretty shitty in England, but it's that way for most players. Sure, JT gets a break because he's England captain, but that doesn't mean it's right.

As for the release clause, IT DOES EXIST. However, all it means is that Liverpool have to open negotiations and allow Suarez to do the same. They aren't forced to sell, which is where the £50m valuation is now coming from, flawed logic in it's own right, 'they paid us that much for Torres, so we need the same for Suarez'. Hopefully other clubs use that against them, 'you paid £35m for a guy with 15 goals to his name, surely you can afford that now'

As for plastic fans, that's the last bastion of the defeated. In England, more and more people are choosing to stay at home to enjoy matches. I don't even know where CJ lives, but I find it unlikely he's at Anfield every game

Most of my response was devoted to the idea that Liverpool supporters are paranoid. Liverpool as a city is paranoid and have very good reason to be. Paranoia is in their blood. From being considered dirty immigrants, to being left for dead after WW2, to Thatcher believing the citizens were a drain on the economy and they should be left to decline, to the government suppressing the truth about Hillsborough and placing the blame on Scousers.

How come you didn't touch on the part were LFC bought all of the homes/land around Anfield, which was once beautiful and upscale, and has now turned it into a shitty neighborhood filled with empty, boarded up homes so that no one would be around the training fields and stadium?

While LFC buying homes and doing nothing with them is a stain on the club (although the club doesn't own that many houses to begin with), the property was bought up for future expansion and regeneration. They bought what they could yet some owners refused to sell. Those left behind were stuck living in half empty neighborhoods (again not all of which is down to the club buying homes), and having not bought all the property the club couldn't do anything with the area around the stadium. The reality is, the Liverpool City Council is responsible for the up keep of the area, not LFC.

I would never call the area around the stadium "beautiful and upscale". They're all terraced houses many of which had been falling apart for some time long before the club started buying up property. The city failed to keep the area adequately funded. Futhermore, many of the houses that are boarded up in the area, aren't even owned by the club. They're owned by people holding out for the best price knowing someone would end up paying over the odds. These days the council is working with homeowners to buy the property so that the area can finally undergo the regeneration it needs.

Your last bit made no sense. The training ground is located at Melwood in West Derby.

Liverpool is a club that I dreamt about playing for as a boy. I have been with great players there, they know me and I would love to continue for many more years at Liverpool. The stadium is spectacular, the fans are phenomenal: people with tattoos of me, things that I could never have imagined.

Actually the club have a lot they can do, he has 3 years left on his contract. If they don't want to sell they don't have to, regardless of what Suarez truly wants. I do think if Madrid meet their valuation they'll sell. Probably around 40 million.

Agreed, he was the best player in the league. I think they were never going to vote for him based on the diving and the fake handball scandal. If Madrid want to fork over 40 million I think Liverpool should sell. Suarez for all the backing he's received has stated he wants to go... so let him go.

Honestly with the players Liverpool have been lining up this summer, I'm not actually worried about the future without Suarez. If you'd have asked me that on Jan 1st, I would've been scared shitless, but with Coutinho (who is fucking boss) and Sturridge coming in, we've given ourselves some nice options. Add in Aspas from Celta Vigo who looks the real deal, throw in Sergi Canos from Barca and Luis Alberto from Sevilla and all of a sudden we go from a very typical no technique no flair English attack (save Suarez) to a potentially very tricky front three who can all play anywhere across the front. The interplay and exchange is going to be lovely to watch.

Liverpool is also looking at Grêmio's Matheus Biteco to play in the deep lying role behind Lucas. This is all without even really selling any players, throw in the sales of Suarez, Carroll, and possibly Skrtel and you'll certainly see more spending, even bring in Papadopoulos or Alderweireld as well as Mkhitaryan.

So the reality is... it's addition through subtraction. Losing Suarez would actually make us stronger.

Sturridge is already a question mark whether he'll be fit to even start the season. It was the same shit last year but with his hamstring instead of his ankle. I don't think he's a player you can count on.

Because while he's an exceptional talent, he tends to do too much on his own. Be it because he thinks he has to, or because he's just selfish, he's wasted many a chance because he's took it all on himself. With him out of the team our team play was much better. Truth be told he doesn't really excel in that advanced forward role. He struggles to bring in others into play. He tends to turn his defender and go directly for goal rather than not forcing the issue and recycling the ball when the numbers aren't there. The new Liverpool medical staff have a great track record with supposed injury prone players. If they could get Agger through an entire season, they should have no problem with Sturridge.

Fair enough, guess we'll have to wait and see. I thought he was more selfish just because he had to be. He seemed more willing to not force the issue when paired with Studge for that brief period.

It was going to take a boatload of cash to get him before his recent comments and still will obviously, but whereas before I think Liverpool could have been likely to decline a big offer just because they aren't a selling club, now I think they are far more likely to accept one.

I don't dislike Sturridge at all, not sure how it would come off as obvious. I would have so so so so so much rather have committed every single minute Torres got since we signed Ba to Studge, but the relationship I think was a bit irreparable and our management was too stubborn with Torres. We never gave him the chance to play in his natural position and he gave us great output from the RW under AVB. I think he is a great player. But his track record with injuries is starting to worry me. You probably know more, but last I'd read he had suffered ligament damage and was a question. If that's been updated, fair enough.
