If you were talking about eli pre giants vs pats game last year, where lobbing it to burress was the rage, than id agree but unfortunately I cant because of what he done in the playoffs and in the pats giants regular season game. Quite a few players came out of the 2004 draft other than Big Ben and Eli Manning. What about Tommie Harris, Phillip Rivers, Larry Fitzgerald, and Bob Sanders? Even though I know the severity of grabbing a franchise QB, I would seriously consider taking any of those players over Eli/Ben.
I would have still taken Eli but barring Sean Taylor's untimely death, had I been the Chargers I would have taken him. The defense would have been absolutely nasty. Drew Brees finally came around the next season and with that in mind the addition of Shawne Merriman would have possibly made The Chargers a dynasty but who knows.

Yes because stats are the ultimate testament to a qbs and players true talent.
and the catch..lol...thats all you saw. Must of missed the play by eli to avoid the pressure. If stats mattered....matt cassel would actually be a top tier qb instead of a product of the talent around him.
