I'm pretty sure he didn't win that Super Bowl.

i disagree completly , he made the drive when his team needed him most , fuck fluke , idc if it bounced of 11 pats players hands then tyree caught it. He drove his team for 7 when they needed it most . He had a huge part in their win as did there defence . Sure hes not a top 5 qb , maybe not even top 10 but your talking like he didnt help them win a superbowl. He played solid all playoffs also if your not forgetting , he got lucky so what , hes gonna get unlucky at some point in his carrer too or probably has .

My point is. The greatest offense of all time would have put up 35 points if they weren't going against such a great defense. The defense is the Reason why they only had to score 17 points to win the game. AGAINST THE GREATEST OFFENSE OF ALL TIME! Eli only had to put up 17 that game, and if the defense didn't play so well, he probably would have had to put up 35 to win. I'm not talking like you need to score 35 to get the job done. However, if he would have scored 35... seeing that New England probably would have scored 35, I then would say Eli Manning was worthy.

All that it comes down to FOR ME is that when his team needed him he drove them down for the sb win , luck or no luck , i dont really care , he did what he had to do . He played solid all playoffs and by most peoples counts had a pretty good postseason. I dont think hes better than romo btw , but hell if we didnt have Peyton id have him in my team

I'd rather have a consistent quarterback, at least you know what you're going to get. That's how players like Trent Dilfer and Eli Manning win Superbowls, the team knows what they can handle and they don't put all the weight on their shoulders. That's not a bad thing at all. Actually, to me it's a good thing. Obviously skill is important, but consistency might be more important to me.

I would of taken Phillip Rivers, he is a true team leader, who is very outspoken and can back it up on the field. This year he is putting up amazing stats and about to lead his team to the playoffs without a defense. I would take Phillip Rivers in a heartbeat, Ben second, but I still believe Eli is highly overrated.
Why are there people ripping Eli and his Super Bowl performance and the lucky catch? Anyone remember Roethlisberger's Super Bowl performance? Of course you don't, because he sucked hard in that game. Eli was far more deserving of his Super Bowl victory than Roethlisberger's.

True enough, Roethlisberger had the worst performance by a winning QB in Super Bowl history. That whole playoff run was pretty ugly for Ben, just shows you how well-rounded that team was despite being a 6th seed. Little bit of luck thrown in too, of course.
