Rick Reilly: Notre Dame flunked

Rick Reilly is terrible. I liked it better when he would write flippant, fluff pieces that usually were funny. This is more like Reilly found an article about ND from 2002 and cut-and-pasted it into his column.

Probably an article he wrote himself.

Didn't Reilly get caught 'writing' and article where he just took an old article of his and used Microsoft Word to change the dates/names?

Also, ESPN gave him a multi year, multi million dollar deal that the rest of the sports world snickered at, because ESPN basically bid against themselves. They tried him in ESPN magazine, fail, self plagiarizer. They tried him on Page 2, fail, didn't fit the tone. They even tried him as a SportsCenter anchor, fail, stiff and awkward.

Now they basically just send him to big golf events to do 60 second standups for SportsCenter, and say things like "Guys, watching this Tiger transformation is stunning, like (insert lame analogy here). The swing is still majestic, but the results are always a bit short."

The literally have no clue how to get anything of worth out of him, and are not so patiently waiting for the contract to run out.

lol, this was gold.

Norm Macdonald's timeline is basically how I keep up with the majors THU-SAT, and then decide if i'm going to watch come Sunday. I have no problem with his play by play, a lot of people follow him specifically for that. He's a serious golf head who knows his shit.

Reilly trolling a professional comedian would be like OOBL picking a bar fight with a UFC fighter.

I make it a point never to click his articles when I read ESPN - and with my works internet policy, I don't get to read much, so I hit that site like 654656345345 times a day. its hard right around last break when you've literally read everything work safe, but I won't support self important douchebags. Reilly is the worst not just because he writes like shit but because he writes like he's perpetually about to finish every sentence with "I'm Rick Reilly bitch." He is so full of self importance he makes Goblinslayer look like a tibetan monk who took a vow of silence.

I would like to point out 2 things here.

1. In Soccer, teams get relegated every year. Not a cumulative amount of sucking.
2. Rangers didnt get relegated because of wins and losses. They were put into administration for financial reasons and kicked out of the league they were in.

I don't care about that, it's funny to me that Reilly is still trying to save face. Then he'll go on to make it seem tongue in cheek by retweeting people bashing him and play victim when people tell him to get AIDs and die.

You can't do things to intentionally provoke people and then become the victim when they retaliate.

My point is that Reilly WANTS people to say those things. I don't approve of doing it, nor do I do it, but you can't try to provoke people and get mad when they respond. He knows how people act on anonymous social media, he can't play the victim.
