I don't think Braun is getting off lightly, because his reputation is destroyed forever. He'll always be viewed as a liar, he'll always he viewed as a cheat, the other players are disgusted with him and have turned on him, and he's never getting into the hall of fame no matter what he does from this point forward. He's a baseball outcast for life. And these guys care about that. To me that's the real punishment. He'll never be viewed the same way again. His accomplishments will always be followed by "yeah, but...".

Which is really exclusive to baseball(well and cycling) but you don't see this in football. I personally don't think this helps baseball.

On the flip side, he is guaranteed to make $119 million between now and 2021. Financial incentives are still very much there for these guys to skirt the system. Public shaming and being disliked by your colleagues is not enough to outweigh that.

On the flip side, he is guaranteed to make $119 million between now and 2021. Financial incentives are still very much there for these guys to skirt the system. Public shaming and being disliked by your colleagues is not enough to outweigh that.

I think a lot of people want to see Braun squirm more then anything. But lets be honest, he isn't having any trouble sleeping at night.

What I don't get is all the outrage from the talking heads as if he wasn't already caught red-handed just last year. He got off on a technicality. Seeing Curt Schilling act all butt-hurt like he found out Braun was screwing his wife was just way too much. Were none of these people paying attention?
