Should the Buffalo Bills take a chance on Cam Newton?

Maybe they should pass on Cam this year.

Don't get me wrong, I can see why teams with a need at RB would take Spiller. I just don't understand why a team with Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch would take a RB.

Before they ran Lynch out of town they ran out McGahee. Before McGahee it was Travis Henry. Fred Jackson will be the next 1k RB to be thrown out soon after they draft another RB this or next year.

The exact phrase, to the word, was uttered about JaMarcus Russell after his pro-day too. But that's throwing against no defense in a climate-controlled indoor practice facility. Buffalo is a tough place for a QB to succeed.

JaMarcus was a fat teddy bear. Cam Newton washes his uniform on his abdominals. Not saying Cam will do well, but I can safely assume he will try 100% harder than JaFatus

Newton's stock is shooting through the roof, and while I'm not sure how he'll turn out in Buffalo, it is worth the chance...they ain't doin anything regardless.

If it isn't Newton, it needs to be another QB.

Fitzpatrick has proven to be serviceable. They aren't going to win anything with him but he bides them the time to build up the rest of the team around him and then replace him when ready to take the next step. There are too many other needs right now.
Bills badly need a good draft. Seems like a good while since they've had one. The first round has been brutal to them the last few years. Spiller, Maybin, Wood, McKelvin, Lynch, Whitner, McCargo, Parrish... Some of those guys are alright but for first round picks where you generally have a high pick you have to come away with more than some alright guys, a couple busts, and a guy no longer on the team.

Spiller could still pan out but the pick made no sense to me at the time anyway.

YES! Cam Newton is the best QB in the class by far and even if Luck was in the draft, Newton would be better. Newton is TOP 5 PICK!

I believe in Cam and think he will be a pretty good NFL QB, but I think he is going to need 2-3 years to develop, preferably behind a veteran QB and coaching staff/scheme with some stability.

Buffalo is not that place, and I don't think there is any way they take him at #3 and I don't think it'd be a terrible pick if they pick him but as KG said, it is hard for a QB to succeed in Buffalo, especially right away.

Fitzpatrick isn't a bad player. They should take A.J. Green and if he's gone that means either Fairley, Bowers or Peterson will be there for them and then they can shore up a terrible defense as well.

QB should not be the pick this year.

Yeah next year really depends on if Barkley and Landry Jones declare. If not then you have Andrew Luck and.....Nick Foles.

I don't really see Jones being a good NFL QB. Kid can't even successfully throw the ball out of bounds. I'd watch out to see how John Brantley looks in an offense that fits his style more. His talents should be shown a lot better under Weis.
