While it is a better and more streamlined service, its not too far ahead of the free PSN, so I say yes. Especially when Activision is looking at charging fees to play their games in the future ala WoW

I'd have to say....it has better latency, much better friends/chat system (which is big), and a better interface for demos/videos/etc.
then again, the service really isn't expensive to someone who's into their career life.

The way live does things over psn is just better so I'd still pay for it. I've kinda taken the attitude though as I've gotten older that I might as well just pay for it and for shit just to work so live works for me.

I don't mind paying the 50$ a year for the reliable service. I'd have to disagree that the PSN is comparable to Live at this point. Having both systems, I definitely feel Live is alot better - but it should be, since you get what you pay for.
If they want to make it free, that'd be great, but I wouldn't want it to be free if it meant a decline in the quality of the service.

Are you forgetting the numerous outages that XBL has had over the years? There was like a whole week at Christmas in '07 where people couldn't log on and if they did the games were unplayable.
I actually think it is less than that. I priced the 12-month care at $60, even though you can get them much cheaper. 60/365 = 16.4 cents per day.
i agree....i own both and they arent even close. XBOX service is 10 times better than psn. I would rather pay 50 bucks to get what i get from XBL then get psn for free

I would rather pay and have quality i.e: XBL then not pay and have something shitty i.e: PSN.
A whole week..... How about a good year and a half of unplayable online play when the PS3 launched. I remember how annoying it was to try and find a game and for it to play without lag was basically impossible.
