lol...I'm embarrassed to admit that I really didn't completely understand betting against the spread. I just picked who I thought would win in week 2 and only got 4 points.
When I saw the spread, "-2.5" or whatever, I'd just pick whoever I thought would win. Plus I had no concept of what a "huge" spread is. I figured a 3 pt spread is nothing, when in actuality it looks pretty standard.
I still don't understand the 1/2 points. Somebody explain that to me.
Also, are home teams automatically given a few points? And how do the line shifts over the course of the week, are they based on actual betting or what?
