Now that I finished up the second Alan Wake DLC this game will probably be next in my 360.

Yeah, it's called The Writer. It was on sale on Live for 200 pts a few weeks ago.

It's the second and last DLC for the game.

I'm a lot farther then you Maynard, I'm going to beat it today. Honestly this feels like Bioshock without the plasmids. The story is really sweet. The TMD is sweet, and I love exploring and listening to the recordings and the random shit on the walls.

i think it plays better than bioshock. the controls are tight and responsive...feels like COD controls. I also love the records, notes and writings on the wall. it all adds to the story and vibe of the game. Its very creepy and has some scare moments and the whole time your thinking about WTF went on here

its pretty challenging too. the fighting is done pretty well. i am at what i would say is the first boss. he is tough and takes some time cause u have to figure out how to beat him cause he changes up his style 3 or 4 times

This game is bad ass. I'm only the part right after you run into the British chick but I'm really enjoying it so far.

Plus, having Nolan North voicing a character is always a plus.:twinkle:

what i am enjoying is the combination of TMD moves you can and must use to kill guys. I like using deadzone to freeze bad guys then throw a barrel of gas at them to blow up or shoot them while they are locked in deadzone

i just came across revert last night. i missed the instruction when it poped up. i think it said tap RB twice quickly....i dont know if i am getting it to work right.

i dont like the lack of a in game control manual. it would be nice to reference this stuff on the fly.

the game is also somewhat unique in that you dont have any level or chapter system in this game. It always moves forward thru the story, but you have no way of know where you are in the game. when u complete one objective you start a new one. I like this because it adds to the uncertainty of what is going on in the story. you dont know where you are or how far you have to go. All you know is there is some creepy stuff going on and you find clues along the way.

Also, the TMD...this is your left hand with the powers....this was done real well imo. all the shit i read said it wasnt and i totally disagree. they gave you this power tool that has some easy to use, easy to control, easy to combo together powers and fun as hell to use device. And combined that with your run of the mill FPS weapons that are also done very well, and also addded some not so run of the mill weapons....like the Rail Gun and the Seeker

the seeker is the one where you control the bullet in the air....i only got to use it in one area, but it was a blast to use. The rail gun is something i get to take with me where ever. My new favortite way to kill bad guys is to lock em up in deadzone, shoot them with a rail gun. Then when the deadzone blows up they are hurt and a second later the rail blast blows up making them explode.

on the negative side...i cant find any. other than any in game manual for details on weapons and controls, the only thing some might think is a negitive is there doesnt seem to be any difficulty setting. I cant find one. Some expert FPS players may find the difficulty to be too easy, others may think its too hard. I think i am a above average FPS player. i think the difficulty is just right. Its challenging, and can be overly tough at times, but never to the point where its frustrating. There are times where i have had to run thru an area 4-5 times until i figured out the right strategy.

I have no clue how many hours the game is and i havnt touched online. I cant say if someone should buy it or not without knowing how long the SP is. i gotta think its like 15-20 hours for me based on how long i have played it. It doesnt feel like i am that far into the story so unless it just abruptly ends i think i have a ways to go

i am curious to see how online is. im not paying for gold xbl to find out

the bosses in this game are a bitch. i just fought this one dude who was super hard to beat. it took me like 5 tries. its a longer battle too

i think i am closing in on the ending. the story is really keeping me under suspense. when you start playing it seems like a pretty straight forward story. but as you play you are wondering what happened here. And then that turns into a really suspenseful theme as you go because you are given clues along the way that make you wonder about certain things. The writing on the walls are the most bizarre clues imo.....you sit and think about who actually left those clues

I thought the first boss was a bitch. I beat him first try but literally had no health packs left and only one block of health. The last part of the battle it seemed he had no pattern and no matter what I did he hit me.

i finished tonight. great ending to a great story. Really an excellent game

I think I'm in the home stretch. I'm about to recharge some thing that will help detonate the bomb.

I loved the part when you re-animate the bridge and a ton of enemies attack you. I woul trap three or four at a time in a deadlock and destoy them with my shotty.

one thing i do and dont like. liked because i rented this game....but didnt like because it goes against what was a brilliant move by the devs

dont read this if your still playing

 

anyone who played knows there is no chapter system and the saves are automatic with a check point system. this eliminates cheesing the game to find items or things missed the first time around.

So that and the 3 endings would seem to force players to play more than once...or even 3 times in this case. but what i didnt like was after the game was over u could just reload your save to see how the other 2 options would play out.....and get the achievments for each of the 3 choices.

what was the point to the auto save and no chapter thing if they were just going to let you cheese the end so u never would be forced to play again? i saw all 3 endings in 1 play thru....not a smart move.

I hate the no mission select. I want to replay only part of the game, but have to play the whole campaign over again just for that one part? Sounds dumb. There was a cool easter egg that is easy to miss, I can't imagine if while your doing your 2nd playthrough you miss it and have no chance to go back.



ON A SIDE NOTE: If you enjoyed the gunplay in this game, the developers from this game are handling the multiplayer for Modern Warfare 3.

Yeah, I agree about the lack of chapter select. Pretty stupid omission. It;s really the only negative I can think of.

I just finished the game and it was great. I also got all the single player cheevos except for beating the game on Hard and causing a Rvert to blow up an enemy 10 times.

i also missed the 10 revert blow ups. i missed the easter egg...was it the wheel? there is an achievement for that
