I just got the Vita version....still waiting for it. It's weird because some like the PS3 more, some like the Vita more....but all say it's a good game (true to it's past).

Today is the first time I'll actually be able to really sit down with it. Have been playing it exclusively on the Vita

Plays like a Sly game with updated graphics.

All the buttons still work the same, same attacks, same collectables to find (from what I heard there's a super special ending this time hinting at another Sly game in the near future... :shifty: )...

What's weird (or great if you're into the stuff) is that they copied over all the Bentley mini-games into their own arcade set-up to download as one package on PSN right now.

No idea why other than to scrape up some extra cash for the game franchise.

...which is making me fucking furious at SONY currently because the stupid assholes did NOTHING to promote this and put it up against Dead Space 3 despite it being a cheaper game for a wider audience to enjoy.

Should be raking in dough but will probably end up on a CAG Sale list in a few weeks. :tables:

It's a definite BUY in any case if you dig the series or want a fun platformer to add to your collection.

Playing through the beginning of the Rioichi Cooper levels...

 

It was cool to swap from Sly to Rioichi himself for a bit, using the Ninja Spire Jump the old man perfected and still being able to swipe coins and other trinkets.

The sneaking around guards bit sucks though if you aren't paying attention because one guard in particular will swing around and catch you at the wrong time, EVERY TIME.

I'm a pretty big fan of the Sly series, and thanks to the fact that I had 55 PSN bucks burning a hole in my pocket due to my Ni No Kuni refund, I figured what the hell and picked this up. So far, (about done with the first heist) pretty much plays exactly like a Sly game. Which I think is a good game? I still love the look of it, and I like the way the stealth and overall gameplay doesn't take itself too seriously (this series has always been the antithesis of controller snapping frustration for me), but for whatever reason it's just not quite snagging me like the older ones did. I'll tell you what, the minigames don't really help (in fairness though, I just don't really like the Sixaxis ones -- or rather, I only really HATE the Sixaxis ones, the others I tolerate).

Swapped over to Bentley so I could hack one of the computers on the Rioichi hub world.

Managed to plant a bomb in one of the Crane Guard's satchels and the lulz ensued. :lol:

Damn thing lost its mind and started running towards me while the bomb ticked away to his doom.

59 more to go...

Made it to the Tennessee Cooper Hub World.

Best part so far was when...

 

Sly explained to Tennessee that "he's got this thing in his ear that let's him talk to his friend..."

And his friend's telling him that Tennessee needs to carry the TNT so they can use it to blow up a wall.

To which Tennessee replies that "he's got voices in his head that tell him to blow up stuff too..."

And so far they've always been right. :shifty:

I suppose you have to be insane if you steal things while using explosives as an M.O.

So, I hadn't heard this mentioned before and just heard it on the PS Nation podcast. Apparently you can sync up both versions of the game and use the Vita to overlay all of the collectibles onto your tv screen. That sounds cool as hell.

just finished playing the timed trial, surprisingly fun...

enjoyed the game way more than I thought I would, actually made stealth fun again
