I fucking LOVED SOCOM 2. It was probably my favorite shooter of all time. I noticed that a bunch of the maps on Confrontation are in this, including my all time favorite Blizzard.

I want it, but I don't want to get it if it sucks.

I dont think its worth 30.Im a socom 2 nut myself.I had it,got bored of it because I got tired of waitin for the new maps and patches.Just picked it up on ebay used for 12.50.I hear gamestop has it used for 11.99(idk how true that is).Try either gamestop or ebay for a copy of this.
 
Here's my quick rundown:

If you're looking for an exact replica of SOCOM 2, you'll be sorely disappointed. The gameplay has somewhat of a different feel than 2, and the Confrontation maps are pretty lame. Slant Six gave a pretty faithful replication of the S1/2 maps, but on some of the maps they added stupid boxes or crates for cover that kind of change the dynamic of everything.

The one thing the game is sorely lacking in is polish. Menus are slow to navigate and stupid quirks and glitches get frustrating.

Basically, I would buy the game used because you'll end up having to buy the new DLC anyway to get Blizzard/Nightstalker/Vigilance for $15 (unless you know someone who already has it and is willing to share their PSN).
 
I definitely think it's worth $30 but I would try to find the version that comes with the official bluetooth headset.
