SOCOM: Confrontation Patch 1.60 Available Now for Download

We have some great news for SOCOM: Confrontation fans. We’re excited to announce that the 1.60 patch is now available for download. Patch 1.60 contains a massive amount of new content and features entirely free to all players.

New Special Forces – The Dutch KCT and Italian COMSUBIN Special Forces teams are featured in this update. Each Force is provided with two new heads, a new voice and light, medium and heavy variants of their own torsos and legs (each with a unique camouflage pattern).

New Weapons – Two new primary weapons will be immediately accessible to players who select to play as the new Special Forces. The Dutch KCT will have access to the 417 assault rifle, while the Italian COMSUBIN Special Forces will receive the SPAS 15 shotgun. Additionally, four new weapons will be made available to players regardless of assigned Special Force. New weapons include the 9mm Sub Machine Gun, M82A1A, AK-74 and SR-25.

Weapon Updates – A number of weapon updates and adjustments to existing weapons have been included in the patch. Below is an overview of the updates and adjustments that have been made:

•M87ELR is given .50 cal rounds to balance it against the Mercenaries’ M82A1A.
•Shotguns are balanced to do less damage at long range but more damage at close range.
•Grenade launchers and rocket launchers have less delay in between shots.
•Front End weapons values are updated to reflect the new Cold War DLC Pack weapons.

In addition to the new characters and weapons, the team has also added 100% Random Medleys to the patch update.

We also have some big news on the SOCOM Confrontation ‘Cold Front’ DLC Pack. To begin with, we now have an official release date: December 17th on the PlayStation Network. We want to make sure that you’re able to spend the holiday break playing ‘Cold Front’. In addition, the special $9.99 pricing will now be available from launch through Sunday, December 20

So $9.99 is the special limited time price for the map pack? What's the regular price going to be? How many maps is ti going to have again?

ive been playing for the last 2 hours now and they did a lot of little things that make the game seem a lot better. I like it.

Just played for a little bit after the patch. The 1.60 update takes a while to download, so start downloading it then go shopping or something and come back and it should be done. The only thing bad about it so far is the night maps are way to dark. But other than that they have added a lot of good things. Its been 14 months but we will be getting 5 more maps in one week, pretty stoked about this.

I keep saying that I want to get into this game but it seems so daunting. When I tried playing ages ago I had no idea wtf was going on and now it would seem like it could only be worse. Only the hardcore of the hardcore still play anymore.

It isn't too daunting to get into. I played a couple days ago and did ok and that's without having played for five months. Just remember to take it much more slowly than you would in Call of Duty, meaning no sprinting around corners and stuff like that.

Yea you do have the disadvantage of knowing hte maps but after playing a few days you'll learn the them pretty easily. But yea you just need to be cautious cause Socom is a much slower pace then almost all shooters. It also helps if you dont play a clan. Last night I was on the clans team and was kicking ass but once people started leaving I had to siwtch to the other team and the clan was raping us. i still did good but overall we might have won like 5 rounds in 15 games.

A good idea would be to play with a group of buddies or get into a clan or something as it makes the game that much more fun. Also guys that you play with for awhile are much more likely to be a little more helpful than random online douchebags. If you ever start getting into it hit me up man and I'll be glad to show you the ropes.

8pm tonight. Of course when they released it they accidently screwed something up with the aiming but they said its a quick fix and it'll be good to go at 8 est.

I finally just popped this in and played a few games with a buddy. Damn this game is fun and man I can't believe how much I prefer 3rd person over 1st. I thought it was just Uncharted but now I'm sure.

My only problem is that I customized my controls and can't for the life of me figure out how to fucking throw grenades.

I switched jump to circle and reload to square, melee to RS and fire mode to LS. According to the layout diagram it says that I need to HOLD circle to change weapons, which is my jump button. I've tried it countless times and it doesn't work.

cant be positive cause dont know your control but whatever is your weapon wheel you hold that button down and it should pop up and you move the Right analog and go voer the grenade pic and you should pull them out and when you hold the fire button down the arc of the grendaes path shows up and you can move it to go how far you want it then let go of the fire button and you throw it.

That's just it. I don't see any button labeled weapon wheel or anything like that on the diagram. The closest thing I see is "Choose Weaon" which is by holding the circle button. Tapping it is supposed to be jump and circle 'choose weapon' but it doesn't work.

I wonder if by assigning jump to circle it fucked shit up?

Edit: That has to be it. I just checked the manual and it says that by default you access the weapon wheel by holding circle. Well then why the fuck would they let me map another function to that button, jump in this case' if it was going to disable that? That makes as much sense as not being able to customize triangle and circle.
