Defensively, I love him. But I think that's his ceiling. He' doesn't have a whole lot of power. He doesn't work walks. He's Joey Gathright 2.0. And that's not really that good. He's young, so he may fill out and add a little more power. But right now, he's all speed and slap hitting.

A lot of the Nationals outfield prospects are more athletic and potential than proven ball player. Hood, Goodwin, Taylor, Perez ... a lot of potential, but a lot of work to be done.

Then move him back to pitcher and make him your #5 starter when Edwin Jackson leaves for another team at the end of the season.

Goodwin is certainly a candidate. Obviously he has to perform at the higher MiLB levels, but he's shown some things already that made the Nats comfortable with giving him $3M.

lol, I've been waiting for the day when the Nats get in to a marathon extra innings game and they bring in Ankiel to finish the game because there's no one left. I wonder if they'd let him throw to the batter from center field ....

He needs to pitch one more time. I want him to finish his career with the Cardinals as a 5th OF and 2nd LOOGY. :yep:
 
As far as the Nats CF, what are the chances Rizzo pursues Upton this off-season for a three year deal or something along those lines.
