I don't wanna sound like a sore loser, admittedly unhappy my team lost, but the Rangers need Lundqvist to play better than he ever has to even remotely have a chance against the Kings. The best case scenario for the Rangers is Chicago coming back to win, IMO.
 
Taking 4 from LA would be extremely tough but this is Lundqvist's first shot at the cup. Can't believe he won't rise to the occasion.

This cannot be understated re: Dolan. A few months back he did some interviews after the Phil Jackson deal and on WFAN, I remember him talking about the Rangers & Sather. He essentially said he knew little when he took over the reigns for the Rangers and brought in Sather to essentially run the organization. He's learned a lot but clearly this is Sather's party and Dolan signs the checks....while the Knicks are Dolan's party to a fault.
 
I fear it will be finished after 5 close games, probably with some overtime. They will probably keep us at arm's length but with Hank playing better than I've ever seen him I don't think we'll get swept. I'll hold out hope that we can pull it off but really we only have about a 40% chance of winning. I'm assuming LA will be the opponent but if it's Chicago it will be more believable because we can outright win a goalie duel with them.

This explains why Sather has kept his job over the past few seasons, I was always wondering about that.

I'm not saying you were 100% wrong, but it was always obvious you hated the Habs and always saw the cup as half empty, rather than half full. And it was obvious you were bitter about what happened to your team this year. I can't remember ever begrudging your team's playoff success last year.

I can hate the habs all I want (for that matter I hate every other team in the league) but when I watch games and look up the stats after I feel like my opinions are fairly valid. If someone wants to argue them and/or point out where I'm wrong somewhere all I ever ask is to point to it and tell me. Hell Thomas and I all year have had some good hockey talk and I never get the same sort of stupid responses back from him.
 
Kings in 6 ... maybe 5. The Thursday start gives the Kings a few days off and they won't make the mistake Montreal made early in this series.

Only way Rangers win this series is if Lundqvist has the series of his life - which is, admittedly, a very real possibility.
 
Had slight confidence that the Blackhawks would win Game 7 at home, but they've kind of looked average all postseason. Seemed like both teams played dump-and-chase, with the difference being the Blackhawks defensemen could not get the puck out of their own end consistently except by icing, while the Kings didn't have any problems in their own end. I don't know why the Blackhawks continued with this failure of an offensive strategy, but I guess it worked somewhat because they scored a lot of goals.

Kings have had a pretty amazing postseason run this year. Possibly the most amazing in sports history when you think about it.

This post season has been pretty crazy. No team has ever played 21 games and make it to a cup final before. 3 game 7s is pretty much unheard of in todays playoff structure. Only other teams to go 3 game 7s were the AVs in 2002 and the Leafs in 93. They both lost in the conference finals. Then you have to remember they went 4 straight on the sharks too. The Kings winning it this year would be god dam good for the league. Flip the coin and so would New York winning it.
 
I'm going Kings in 6/7 $leaning more towards 7 at this point honestly. Kings really let their foot off the pedal in almost every series at this point and I don't really see that changing.

Whats really going to screw the Rangers up is the Kings Centers as their depth there is pretty ungodly. Rangers did deal with Crosby/Malkin combo in round 2 but they have a different animal with Kopitar, Carter and Richards with Jared Stoll who as a 4th liner is winning faceoffs at a 57% margin (that bergeron level). Dominic Moore vs Kopitar and Carter and Stoll vs the other Richards and Stepan is going to be a serious good batch of tv for this hockey fan.

Gaborik is going to :troll: the rangers too you just know it.
