I've known a lot about baseball forever, I labeled him a bust even before he was drafted. DL stint twice in rookie season, gonna miss his sophomore season, yeah he may come back, but he will never be the same. Not to mention he hasn't really pitched against the top teams in the league yet.The epitome of the overeactive, hyperbole filled sports world we live in today.
The guy barely has 10 MLB starts, and you label him a bust. Tommy John surgery is so common and routine these days, its the equivelent of treating a sprained ankle. He'll be back, and he'll be fine. Most guys come back stronger.
While all that is true, but you never, TJ surgery could do anything to his arm, and with all the technology and medicine in the medical world, anything could go wrong, as well as be extremely effective, it all depends really.I love how people are already so quick to write Strasburg off as a bust. The guy is 22 years old. Most pitchers are still in AA at this age. He'll be back in 2012 still throwing mid 90s heat and striking batters out at a high rate.
I wish him the best of luck though just for the sake of the Nationals.
