I laughed when Shamrock said his kicks don't hurt...when after taking several kicks, Smith's body language was PLEASE DON'T KICK ME AGAIN MFER.


Awesome end to the fight. I laughed again.

All the talk and questions about Cung Le's movie career negatively impacting his fighting just came off bad...the dude was kicking ass, apparently it did not.
 
yeah cungs kicks dont hurt except for shattering forearms...

one of the best cards of the year IMO. not one boring fight. thompson/melendez definite candidate for fight of the year

Strikeforce REALLY should start showing their prelim fights. That pre-selected entrance music needs to go as well. Shit is terrible and incredibly generic. That post-fight interviewer is HORRIBLE. Has no flow whatsoever. We should never see him again, and instead they should give that job to Shamrock.

On to the fights...

King Mo did what I pretty much expected (even though I picked Whitehead) and made it look easy. Hands definitely looked better. I think that he is Mousasi' biggest threat in Strikeforce.

Training with Anderson Silva was the best thing to happen to Jacare. While he had underrated striking, he's taken that up a few notches and looked legit on his feet. He looked wonderful tonight. My only complaint was that we didn't see the alligator walk, but maybe he's saving it for Shields. :happy:

Melendez/Thomson was one of the best fights of the year. Thomson looked great early on, but his conditioning failed him in the championship rounds and Melendez got stronger as the fight went on. Getting into a brawl with heavier hands wasn't the best plan, either. Melendez/Thomson III MUST happen.

Scott Smith is the most dangerous man in the sport. You can NEVER assume a fight is over when he's fighting. That comeback was moving as hell. I'm very happy for Smith, but Cung Le was damn impressive. Oh well, back to handpicking cans for him. Semi-OT, I had no idea he was 37. He looks much younger.

for shame shogun. talking smack about quadros, the p4p best mma announcer. i like how he didnt let the fighters ramble on about how awesome rockstar energy drink is and move the questions along. i was very happy to see quadros announcing last night but you would never know he was there with mauro screaming like a lunatic drowning everyone out.

He doesnt care, he probably likes it actually

Anyway, I think Frank just worded it wrong, he meant that Cung isnt a power kicker, he does damage by kick after kick instead of a Cro Cop that just lays into you which is correct, Cung never finishes anyone with 1 or 2 kicks, its like Diaz's boxing

Good show overall, should have shown 1 of the prelim fights, looked like Birtt and Lighty was a quick 1 rounder with some good action, they need to fix that

Mo is legit, he is an elite athlete and is getting better and better, I love the 'moneyweight' comment, guy will be a star

Jacare looked great on his feet, I think he trains at Blackhouse now with And1, he would smoke Shields IMO and give Dan a tough tough fight, Jacare is awesome

Josh and Gil put on a show, Gil made a bunch of adjustments and had Josh chasing him, Josh didnt have the kicks like in the first fight which was the difference, I loved that Josh didnt coast and just hang on in the 5th and knew he needed a KO and went for it, that was some high level MMA action

Cung has gassed before in the 3rd, I cant believe how bad Smith's grappling is, I thought it was actually a work in th first round when Smith wasnt doing anything, lol, the guy just doesnt go away, amazing he still has power in his hands after taking a beating for 3 round

Smith vs Frank would be a nice fight

I know Quadros used to do early PRIDE commentary, but I can only remember Mauro, Trigg and Bas.

Quadros was great at commentary, but his interviewing skills need a lot of work if he's going to remain there.

When I saw Smith's grappling, I immediately thought of the Carano/Cyborg. It was pretty bad.
